This was Sohail Khan's directorial debut which didn't work

The film is an okay film though could be better The problems are manifold:

There are several crap comedy scenes which became a trademark of Sohail Khan films Another flaw is overdose of stunts and some tedious clichés

The film starts off well and keeps you interested Salman's entry is too corny though but when Salman and Sanjay Kapoor meet again the film gets better The friendship scenes are well handled and also the turn of events but the entire villainy is too filmy and the handling of the villainy too is tad formulaic and annoying

The film also has overdose of songs and comedy scenes and stunts

Direction by Sohail Khan is average yet better then HELLO BROTHER Music is decent

Salman Khan is lively as in most 90's films and he repeats his act in the comedy scenes but is good in serious scenes Overall decent act Sanjay Kapoor has the hangover of Anil Kapoor and he reminds a lot of him and annoys in the comedy scenes but is good in many serious scenes His chemistry with Sallu is good Shilpa Shetty is okay, she plays the heroine Surprisingly no partner for Salman and that too in his home production Nirmal Pandey overacts Paresh Rawal is good, Johny Lever lends some funny moments Kiran Kumar in a brief role is okay

A Classic!!

My friends offer me this movie as a gift, thinking that i would love it because of my addiction to bollywood movies. OK, this movie make me laugh since the first second, everything in the movie is pure nonsense, the story...wow..., the characters are truly involved with the movie, and some actions scenes should be in the chronicles of cinema, "better" than Ed Wood...for sure For the quality of the movie and the real intent of the director i give a 1 (awful), but for the incredible stupid scenes (gennious in another perspective) that no normal human mind would think i give a 10/10...wich results in a 6/10. don't be influenced by my vote, don't miss this movie, its unique peace of art!

Raju (Salman Khan) and Yash (Sanjay Kapoor) are best friends through college. Afterwards though, Yash takes over the family organized crime business while Raju (unbeknownst to Yash) becomes a CID Inspector. When Raju is given the assignment to investigate Yash, a conflict of interest seems at hand.

Khan and Kapoor have good chemistry together, and portray best friends well. The plot, while not credible, is entertaining. There are no memorable songs, but there is some good choreography. The film is full of violence, naturally, with some fun action scenes. Overall, though, it's just an average movie.

Suraj + Yash = Friendhsip Forever
cybersupam30 March 2008
Before stepping into acting this was Sohail's first directorial movie. But it did flop with an immature story, old plots and over-action scenes. Yes though it can be considered as movie for commercial purposes but many bugs and small mistakes are visible while watching it. From Anu Malik's side it was a good effort to present good and ear-relaxing music. That's why the songs are not that negligible, and are worth listening. Exceptional to one song 'Dil Le Lena' which he entirely copied from Macarena by Los Del Rio.

I like Auzaar only for the story of Suraj (Salman) and Yash (Sanjay) who are good friends and can do anything for their strong friendship sake. Only difference is that Suraj is from a village and Yash is from a rich (criminal) father. Also Yash has a girlfriend Prathna (shilpa), while Suraj remains bachelor till the end of the movie. Suddenly in between their friendship story Suraj leaves for his village. He returns with a secret mission and hiding his identity from all. What is that secret mission and his identity?

The movie can be considered as 'zabardast masaladar' but again with too much 'masala' also spoils the recipe. Such is the case with Auzaar. Only tasty while watching it, but forget after it gets end. Sometimes it's hard to digest. Paresh Rawal is always evergreen for every role he is offered, and here also it is not exceptional. His role as Yash's handicapped father is excellent, which proves that he is fit for every role beside comedian.

A great regret for Sohail is that his first directorial debut went in vain without success. He improved better with his second movie Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya which was somewhat delicious.

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie last week and liked it a little bit bit because it was better than the action movies who don't have a story line. This movie was flop on box office but i thought it should be Hit or Above Average so i thought it would be a really boring movie but it was not i really liked the Special Effects and the fighting scenes in the movie and SALMAN KHAN looked looked really cool and handsome in the song"I LOVE YOU" and in the rest of the scenes and it was the first film directed by SOHAIL KHAN,even SANJAY KAPOOR acted well in the movie and PARESH RAWAL was good too because in the end when his mystery was disclosed i was really shocked so the movie was over 8/10 which is Good so it would have been better than flop.if i had to give it stars i would give it ****/5
