The Hunt for CM 24 - a gripping conspiracy thriller
iaxs14 November 2004
English title: The Hunt for CM 24. This movie is in English not German, at least the version I watched last night was and it did not appear to have been dubbed.

This movie is a good little thriller with interesting twists and just enough suspense to keep me awake way past bedtime! Jacob Hofstetter (Bill Sage) gradually becomes aware of the extent of the conspiracy he is wrapped up in and has some success in overcoming his adversaries. CM24 is a cancer cure he has designed that works using an enzyme for gene therapy. His troubles start when the University cancels funding; then a sick woman, Annabelle (Amanda Ooms), appears for treatment which he gives her.

The film starts a little slowly and does not initially make sense, but the pace and focus quickly picks up. In the end it is about one mans conscience and love for a woman against a major corporate who persuade even his (now ex-) lover to betray him.

The only thing I would do differently in Jacob's position is release the formula for CM24, and instructions on how to make it, on the Internet (News groups are good) and to other drug companies. There being no way he could ever have made any money from it himself.
