We already know how much Charles Band loves puppet terrors. Judging by the new slate of Full Moon films Band has announced for next year, it would seem he loves sequels almost as much.
If you asked me, the only sequel I'm really jonesing for from Band would be a follow-up to his pre-Full Moon alien fight-fighting flick Arena. Given the current popularity of ultimate fighting, now would be a perfect time to revist his ultimate monster fighting in outer space flick. Sadly, Arena 2 is not in the works. The six Full Moon sequels slated for DVD store shelves in 2009 are as follows...
Puppet Master: Axis of Evil - Band has been talking of wanting to do a new Puppet Master movie for ages and now it seems like it will actually come to fruition. Fyi: The Sci-Fi Channel's Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys movie doesn't count because...

You know what’s wrong with horror these days? No, it’s not the glut of remakes. It’s not torture porn. It’s not Paris Hilton. Well, it might be Paris Hilton, but I don’t think so. No, the problem with horror today is there’s not enough Full Moon Features.
Weep not, gentle horror fan! Loyal reader Gus just pointed us to a “channel” on Metcafe that is nothing but the best in Full Moon goodness! Clips from their hundreds of movies, an entire section devoted to puppet kills, and Charles Band staring out at you the whole time; this place has got it all! Start digging it here!
Seriously, though, it is pretty cool for those fiending for nostalgia …or killer puppets. And it really does make me miss the days when seeing an ad for something like Head of the Family in the new issue...

This week's delectable delights include, amongst other things, such highbrow morsels as a gallery retrospective on D.I.Y. art and a crash course in the history of the California vineyards. If that's not your cup of proverbial tea, there's always psychotic bikers and the ballad of two stoned losers on the run from gangsters and the police.
"Beautiful Losers"
More than 15 years after founding the hugely influential Alleged Gallery in New York, the freelance curator Aaron Rose continues to serve as a cornerstone of the now-global D.I.Y. art scene. Here he teams with "Blair Witch" actor-turned-director Joshua Leonard to chart the evolution and subsequent commercialization of a movement whose genesis was found in a group of outcasts, slackers and misfits from the fringes of subculture. Emerging from the dirty little worlds of surfing, skateboarding and street graffiti, a group of artists including the likes of Harmony Korine,...

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands -- Will the Dutch stay in touch with the Dutch? That is the main concern of the film community in the Netherlands this year. Last year's local market share dropped below 10%, from more than 13% in 2003, leaving the industry reflecting on how to improve results this year. The irony is that in the past few years, local films had managed to gain the confidence of a skeptical local audience that traditionally has been lukewarm to national product. Since 1999, Dutch market share had nearly tripled, spurring optimism among Dutch producers. Better promotional campaigns and casting popular television stars like soap actors Katja Schuurman, Georgina Verbaan and Daan Schuurmans resulted in more efficient targeting of the youth audience. In particular, NL Film, the production house of producer-director Johan Nijenhuis, had a string of successes with such titles as Costa! and Full Moon.
