Every couple of months in comic book-centric social media circles, someone reposts a comics page in which Deadpool shooting Spider-Man in the head or decapitating an exhausted Bruce Banner. These panels usually spark arguments about whether or not these kills are in character (they aren’t) or if the entire thing is a joke (it is).
Eventually, someone points out that the pages come from Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, a 2012-2013 miniseries by Cullen Bunn and Dalibor Talajic. The story involves Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking powers driving him so mad that he decides to kill all the other Marvel characters because they’re fictional and their lives don’t matter. Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe may have inspired controversy, but it also inspired several sequels, including Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe Again.
From all that we’ve seen so far, Deadpool & Wolverine seems to have little in common with Bunn and Talajic’s take.

The next installment of the long lasting Marvel Cinematic Universe has a lot of pressure behind it. Not only is this the first time the X-Men series will be brought into the MCU after being at 20th Century Fox for two decades, but the previous year’s films were seen as either disappointments or outright failures.
With the film only a couple months away the film is reportedly getting some last minute reshoots to try and make sure all of the pieces fall into place. Marvel is under a lot of pressure to try and save the MCU from disaster and the third Deadpool film may be the one to save it.
Some fans believe the reshoots might incorporate more cameos than they were able to before. Whether that is true or not, we are already expected to have a bunch of Marvel cameos from across the multiverse.

Hugh Jackman arguably has the record for the longest tenure of an actor playing a superhero over the years. Since 2000’s X-Men, the actor has played Wolverine for almost 24 years and is returning once again in the upcoming MCU film Deadpool & Wolverine. Before this, the X-Men had its own universe separate from the MCU at 20th Century Fox.

The Tim-Story Fantastic Four films also existed within the Fox-Marvel ventures but were separate from the X-Men universe. However, a deleted scene featuring a morphed version of Jackman from the 2005 Fantastic Four film shows how the two properties almost merged and started an interconnected universe long before the MCU.

Marvel’s Fantastic Four has lived through several iterations. In 1994, the first ambitious Fantastic Four life-action was made starring Alex Hyde-White, Rebecca Staab, and Jay Underwood, with Joseph Culp playing Doctor Doom. However, the movie was never released. While the Chris Evans-starrer Fantastic Four movie series was popular among fans, there was an attempt from Fox to reboot the franchise in 2015 with a roster of a talented cast.

Marvel’s X-Men ’97 was filled with unexpected twists and turns, yet it has been one glorious ride for all Marvel fans. Actor Kevin Spacey had been at the peak of his career when he was accused of s*xual assault and was put on trial. Many reports of assault and misconduct came out as part of the Weinstein Effect, which led him to lose out on most of his acting commitments at the time. The actor was also dropped from his long-running Netflix show House of Cards.
Spacey was reportedly cleared of his charges in 2023 and was ready to get back to work again. The two-time Oscar winner won his first Academy Award for his performance as Verbal Kint in Bryan Singer’s cult classic The Usual Suspects. The character was reportedly written with Spacey in mind as he was not too famous at the time, which would have given the twist away.

‘X-Men ’97’ was a big hit for Marvel Studios. Since its first episode, it’s been getting high ratings, and fans love its story, staying true to the original, and the updates to characters.
But there have been some controversies, like when the creators revealed Morph as non-binary and hinted at a romance between Morph and Wolverine in episode 3.
During Madelyne Prior’s nightmare rampage, one standout moment involved Morph. In his dream, he catches Wolverine in the shower. Instead of looking away or being surprised, he jokes with Wolverine, saying, “Need a hand with those hard-to-reach places?” The scene takes a dark turn when Wolverine responds, “Always with the jokes, Morph? As if I don’t know?”
After Episode 7 aired, the hints of something more between Morph and Wolverine became even more apparent. In this episode, when the team confronts Bolivar Trask in Madripoor, fans noticed Wolverine and Morph sticking close together.

‘X-Men ’97’ turned out to be a surprise hit for the Marvel Studios. Ever since the first episode was released the show had consistently high ratings, and fans praised it for its story, authenticity, and faithfulness to the original show and numerous improvements made to characters.
Having said that, the show wasn’t without controversies, especially when the creators of the show went public that Morph was non-binary, and in episode 3, the romance between Morph & Wolverine was teased.
As Madelyne Prior unleashed horrific nightmares upon the team, one of the most interesting sequences was the one that belonged to Morph. Marvel Studio’s X-Men ’97 has been wreaking havoc across the fandom for its incredible storyline, marvellous characters, nostalgic theme, and adrenaline-packed action. While the animated series continues to garner praise, many have been wondering why Beau DeMayo, the series’ showrunner, was allegedly fired by Marvel.

Pierce Brosnan making his debut in the superhero world was not something had expected. Yet as fate would have it, the actor soon became probably the best part of Dwayne Johnson’s failed superhero venture, Black Adam. Starring as Dr. Fate aka Kent Nelson, Brosnan did an impeccable job and fans have been wanting to see more of him despite his grand sacrifice in the film.
Pierce Brosnan in Tomorrow Never Dies
While James Gunn and Peter Safran bringing one of DC’s oldest comic characters back to the screen seems like a distant dream, Brosnan can make his return to the world of superheroes elsewhere. And if his recent appearance is to be taken into consideration, Brosnan would look incredible as MCU’s Magneto.

Halle Berry became a big name after a string of supporting roles in the 90s with the superhero film X-Men in 2000. Berry played the iconic X-Men character Storm and it is arguably her most popular role. However, she would also be remembered for playing one of the most iconic Bond girls in 2002’s Die Another Day.
Halle Berry played Storm in multiple X-Men films
Berry starred opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film, and her role as Jinx was different from others in the past as she helped move the plot instead of being reduced to a damsel in distress. However, Berry faced an embarrassing moment during an intimate scene with Brosnan in the film.

Berry etched herself in Bond mythology by playing the Bond girl Jinx in Die Another Day. She wasn’t in the film just to be a love interest, however, and found herself being just as physical as Brosnan’s Bond. Although she held her own on-screen, behind the scenes there were two moments that didn’t go the way she might’ve wanted. In one take, Brosnan and Berry are making out with each other. But Berry famously began to choke during the sequence.

The recent trailer for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is packed with nods to comic stories and tons of cameos. In the movie, Deadpool teams up with the Tva to save his reality from falling apart.
He tries to convince Wolverine to join him, but it seems like Wolverine isn’t eager. The film will introduce Cassandra Nova as the main villain and explore the Multiversal Theme of the MCU.
The movie is generating a lot of buzz, which can be both positive and negative. On the bright side, it’s likely to attract huge crowds to theaters. However, the downside is that fans have extremely high expectations and numerous theories, making it impossible to meet all of them. Eventually, this hype might lead to disappointment.
Even industry insiders are fueling the hype. Director Matthew Vaughn dubbed the movie the “MCU savior,” and Deadpool creator Liefeld hailed it as “the best comic movie of all time,...

‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ trailer recently dropped, and we’ve seen everything from nods to comic storylines to an overwhelming amount of cameos about to appear in the movie.
The movie sees Deadpool as he is set to return to his crime-fighting tendencies after he is recruited by the Tva to stop his reality from collapsing. Wade will attempt to talk Wolverine into helping him, but judging by the trailer Wolverine will be more than reluctant. The movie will introduce Cassandra Nova to the MCU as the primary villain as well as continue the Multiversal Theme of the MCU.
The thing with the movie is that there is a massive amount of publicity surrounding it, and that can be both a good and a bad thing. The good thing is that obviously, it’s going to pull the masses into cinemas, the bad thing? Fans have expectations that are through the...

The X-Men: The Animated Series was a masterpiece in its finest form, and Larry Houston was one of the producers at the helm of it. Throughout the five seasons that it aired, fans were deeply in love with almost every story arc that the 1992 series decided to adapt. But even after such tremendous success with it, Houston still has one major regret about the show.

This regret is about his not exploring the character arc of a super-powerful yet long-forgotten hero, who was even more closely related to Scott Summers than what the non-comic book readers may expect. This character was Alex Summers, the younger brother of Scott and a mutant himself, best known as ‘Havoc.’ And as it turns out, Houston has immense regrets about it.

It has been 5 years since fans experienced something unprecedented in the superhero genre with Avengers: Endgame. The anticipation for the film was something that Hollywood had never seen before. After the devastating cliffhanger of Avengers: Infinity War, everyone was hyped for what was to come and how the Avengers would defeat Thanos.
Avengers: Endgame was arguably the most anticipated MCU film before its release
When the film opened, fans were extremely satisfied with how the Russo Brothers managed to tie up the 22-film arc of the Infinity Saga in a grand and emotionally resonant way. The film also broke several box office records and created new ones, which may never be replicated in history.

Marvel fans have been eagerly awaiting more female-led superhero flicks to highlight the powerful women of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a world where male superheroes predominate. However, recent reports have suggested that the future of such projects could very well be at risk, making fans frustrated and disappointed.
Teyonah Parris’ character Monica Rambeau would have had her own solo MCU series if Brie Larson’s The Marvels had not been met with such dismal critical reception. Although Monica Rambeau made a fleeting appearance in Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels (2023), the character made her official debut in Disney+’s WandaVision.

However, it’s been alleged that Marvel scrapped her solo project after the Larson-starrer flick underperformed at the box office, triggering an enraged discussion among viewers regarding the challenges faced by female-driven superhero flicks.

“Deadpool and Wolverine” is set to be one of the biggest films of the summer, and fan theories are already flying around the internet regarding what Marvel could have in store for what looks like a bonkers trip across a multiverse populated by characters previously owned by 20th Century Fox and now owned by Disney. Whatever goes down in the sequel, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, prior knowledge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will not be a mandatory requirement in order to enjoy it. That’s according to the film’s director, Shawn Levy.
“I was a good student in school. I’ll do my homework as an adult. But I am definitely not looking to do homework when I go to the movies,” Levy recently told the Associated Press. “I very much made this film with certainly a healthy respect and gratitude towards the rabid fan base that...

We’ve been hearing a lot lately about how ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is gonna be a big deal for the MCU. Director Vaughn said it’s gonna save the MCU, and even Deadpool’s creator thinks it’s gonna be the best comic book movie ever, with awesome action on par with ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier.’
We’ll have to wait a few months to see if all that talk is true. But for now, we’re keeping an eye on ‘X-Men ’97,’ a new Marvel Studios project focusing on mutants. It’s a revival of the old ‘X-Men: The Animated Series,’ and it’s been a huge success so far, getting really high ratings.
Beau DeMayo, the writer for ‘X-Men ’97’, got fired just before the Season 1 premiere, for reasons unknown. But the show was a huge hit with fans, so it got renewed for Season 2, and they’re working on Season 3 now.

For months now we’ve been hearing how the upcoming ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is going to be the best thing to happen to the MCU in quite some time, following a series of flops.
Director Vaughn called the upcoming movie “MCU Savior,” while Deadpool creator himself called the movie the best comic book film of all time, with the best action since ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier.’
And while it’s going to be a few months until we really verify those claims, we are certainly busy following ‘X-Men ’97,’ another mutant-focused Marvel Studios project, a revival of the old ‘X-Men: The Animated Series’ which, so far, turned out to be a flawless hit with exceptionally high ratings.

Marvel has been through a lot of ups and downs post-Endgame. After a series of bombs at the box office, things are finally looking hopeful for the comic book giant after taking a back-to-basics approach. Bringing back the beloved X-Men cartoon from the 1990s was a slick move, as it brought back a lot of fans who had lost faith after consecutive failures like The Marvels and She-Hulk.

Deadpool’s upcoming threequel film Deadpool & Wolverine is the MCU’s hope at redemption. And the franchise is leaving no stone unturned to capture as much hype as possible before the release, which is scheduled just a few months away. With the two characters being highly popular, fan theories are bound to pop up all over the internet. And an X-Men theory has caught more fire after the release of a new trailer.

When Disney finally acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019, fans were either totally excited or, conversely, anxious about how the Mouse would handle the Marvel characters. Of course, this was the peak of the MCU with the release of Avengers: Endgame, and so Marvel Studios had its own concerns about the future trajectory of their properties. But since the deal included the acquisition of characters incredibly important to the franchise, from X-Men and the Fantastic Four to Deadpool and Galactus, it was only a matter of time.
Disney took its time, and now, five years later, things are starting to take off: a new Deadpool movie is coming soon, featuring Wolverine working with the title character, a new Fantastic Four is in development, and right now, X-Men '97 is making a lot of noise as a sequel to the X-Men animated series that ran on Fox Kids from 1992 to 1997.

Robert Downey Jr. elated Marvel fans earlier this month when he told Esquire magazine that he would “happily” return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Tony Stark/Iron Man following his Oscar win for best supporting actor in March. There’s only one hiccup: Iron Man died in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” But the MCU’s ever-expanding multiverse certainly leaves the door open for Downey’s return
In a recent interview with GamesRadar+, “Avengers: Endgame” directors Joe and Anthony Russo expressed some confusion over Downey’s Iron Man popping back up in the MCU after they killed the character off so heroically in their record-breaking film.
“I don’t know how they would do it,” Anthony said. “I don’t know what the road to that would be [laughs].”
Joe added, “I mean we closed that book so it would be up to them to figure out how to reopen it.”

It’s easy to think of the kind of stories that get told in the comic book world as just one genre or tone, but as seen below, graphic novels, comic strips, and other sequential art have offered up an incredible range of storytelling. And these stories have been inspiring great TV shows for years, even before superhero stories dominated the box office.
There were plenty of options that nearly made the list, like the WB’s “Smallville,” which squandered its early potential after running just a few seasons too long. Because one of the most exciting things about these stories is that there’s a rich variety to choose from.

In March 2019, Marvel Studios regained the film rights to X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool after Disney’s acquisition of Fox for $71.3 billion.
These characters are planned to be integrated into the MCU. In October 2020, the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ films were rebranded as “Marvel Legacy films” on Disney+. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has grown increasingly large over the last 15 years, with countless storylines and characters weaving in and out of the franchise. To the casual Marvel fan, this might be a little overwhelming, but Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy doesn’t think that will be a problem with his movie.

For superhero fans of a certain age, there was nothing quite like waking up early on Saturday mornings to tune in for a new episode of "X-Men: The Animated Series." With fast-paced soap opera storytelling, snappy one-liners, and the most radical animation style on TV, "X-Men: The Animated Series" was the perfect gateway to get kids hooked on all things Marvel.
Now, over 25 years since the original series went off the air, Marvel and Disney+ have continued the saga with "X-Men '97," a series so good that it's already being hailed as one of the best new shows of the year. What makes "X-Men '97" such a triumph is not just its perfectly executed nostalgia, but because the show has evolved to relate to the sensibilities of our 2024 world, without becoming anachronistic in the process. While the shocking genocide of Genosha in episode 5 is based on Grant Morrison's "E...

Rejoice, casual moviegoers and other normal people who don't spend every waking moment watching superhero movies! Remember when the #ItsAllConnected branding campaign of the Marvel Cinematic Universe popularized the idea of everyone putting in dozens (if not hundreds) of hours of homework in order to watch the next installment? Which meant we were soon inundated with a rising tide of crossover movies -- some of which weren't even in the same continuity or part of the same franchise, like Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire's respective Peter Parkers teaming up in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" -- that only made sense if audiences had watched several other movies beforehand? Well, one loudmouthed mercenary with a habit of breaking the fourth wall might just shatter that annoying little trend in a big way later this year.

Episode 5 of "X-Men '97" — "Remember It" — may very well go down as the most shocking TV moment of 2024. Adapting the dark "X-Men" comic storyline "E Is For Extinction" by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, a giant Sentinel razed the new mutant homeland of Genosha, killing thousands, if not millions.
Episode 6, "Lifedeath Part 2," took a break focusing instead on the absent Storm and Professor X, but episode 7, "Bright Eyes," explores the fallout of Genosha. It picks up about a week later when the X-Men are hosting a rainy funeral for Gambit. They go back to Genosha to continue searching for more survivors. They find one: Emma Frost, White Queen of the Hellfire Club.
Emma, who was part of Genosha's short-lived ruling council, is a telepath. During the attack, she unlocked a second mutation to turn her skin diamond hard, so she survived being crushed under rubble.

Disney+’s X-Men ’97 is doing everything right, from capturing the nostalgia that made fans fall in love with the 1992 animated series to their depiction of favourite characters like Magneto, Rogue, Professor Xavier, and Cyclops. For a long time, X-Men fans have had to accept that adaptations may never get right what fans loved about these comic book characters with a slew of disappointing live-action movies from Fox. While Wolverine’s focus and depiction of the bad-ass anti-hero have worked for the past two decades, some characters, like Cyclops, didn’t fare well. Scott Summers, aka Cyclops, is a mutant with the power to

I'm the precise age to have been introduced to the Marvel Universe by animation and film. Back then in the bygone 2000s, superhero movies never crossed over and the best that us wee fans could hope for was, say, the X-Men playing guest star on "Spider-Man" for an episode or two. I've now evolved into a curmudgeon who thinks superhero cinema could use more individuality and less interconnectivity, but I digress.
All this is to say that "X-Men '97" episode 7, "Bright Eyes," featured the sort of brief guest appearance that would've made 10-year-old me super-excited: Rogue meets Captain America (Josh Keaton). You might recall that Cap appeared back in the original "X-Men" cartoon; the season 5 episode, "Old Soldiers," showed him and Wolverine on a mission together in World War II. We've known for two weeks that Cap would be showing up (thanks to...
