Fantasy Girls (1974)
** (out of 4)
Decent hardcore film from Alex de Renzy about a group of girls working at a massage parlor in San Fransisco. When the girls aren't talking about their lives they're satisfying their customers with their sexual talents.
Over the past year I've become a big fan of de Renzy so I've been checking out as much of his work as possible. There's no question that he had a certain talent and he created some really bizarre movies. With that said, FANTASY GIRLS is a decent film but at the same time I couldn't help but be somewhat disappointed. It's not that the movie is bad, because it isn't, but at the same time I just expected more from the director.
This here is pretty much a straight sex movie without too much of a plot. I mean, we hear a few stories from the girls but there's no question that the main focus is on the sex. There's just not too many interesting things with any of the characters. Even worse is the fact that the film somewhat drags in its 83-minute running time. Hardcore fans will enjoy seeing Jamie Gillis here. The highlight of the film is when two ladies attack one another with a double sided sex toy.
