The usual gang of idiots (NYC division) shows up in ROAD SERVICE, a sloppy but intermittently amusing sex farce, authorship unknown. It would be interesting to stage a contest to name the director, based on polling Golden Age fans to choose among the likely suspects like Mr. Mustard, Costello, Vincent, Stevens or Cemano and letting majority rule.
Goofball family of Andrea True, Marc Stevens and daughter Helen Madigan (I guess it flies, since Andrea is 11 years older than Helen, and quite precocious) is at the center of the shenanigans. They act silly, make dumb jokes and hump a lot, with Helen reprimanded for masturbating too much (at one point with a carrot in her vagina, so I guess we'll have to nominate Joe Sarno into the helming sweepstakes too).
The silly plot has stranded motorists popping up at their house for the usual musical beds and orgy content, tied up "comically" in the final reel. There's a west coast loosey-goosey aspect to the action but the players all emanate from New Yawk.
Though Helen and ma Andrea team up to service a guy together at one point, there's no hint of incest. Maybe I was in a cheerful and lenient mood when I watched it, but I think the high spirits won me over to some extent, even though the film is really difficult to defend on any artistic level. At least they tried, rather than just churning out an hour of wall-to-wall sex as most hacks then (and now) do.
