SLOW ADAPTATION OF THE GRIMM FAIRY TALE
J. Steed14 August 1999
Nice adaptation of the Grimm fairy tale, but with heavy-handed direction and a bit slow. It takes a while before father sends his first son out of the house to get the story on its way. Will children mind? I do not know. Probably they will enjoy all the food on the tables and the donkey who relieves himself of gold pieces. The innkeeper and his wife are indeed a very nasty couple.
