Country after war and a few people search for new place for live.

The story begins nearly after the Second World War, RAF pilot Madera returns back to Czechoslovakia to his home village and expects welcoming as a war hero. But the reality is much worse, he finds no one from his family alive. He settles in the old abandoned farm-house and tries to success as a farmer. But near forests are full of escaping Nazis. He meets a group of young men playing on cowboys. The first surprise and anger overgrows to the lifetime friendship. After initial troubles with Nazis and with remaining collaborators in the village and with help from his new friends, the farm-house starts to prosper. But communists are stronger day by day and the life for west war hero in his home is harder and harder.
