Released in the U.S. as "The Big Bad Wolf" (1966), one of a small handful of films distributed by Barry Yellen's Childhood Productions in 1966, each a hastily dubbed US premiere of a foreign language film, including "Snow White and Rose Red" (1955, original title: "Schneeweißchen und Rosenrot"], "The Christmas That Almost Wasn't" (1966) and "Cinderella" (1955, original title: "Aschenputtel"]. All of the English song scores were released as original sound track albums on RCA Camden Records, long out-of-print vinyl releases that command high prices today.
This film was produced by Schonger Film in Inning, Ammersee - yet most of the film was produced in the area of Mittenwald.
The movie plot says the goats are moving down in the deeper parts during winter - meaning the movie is said to play in autumn/fall.
But actually many scenes outside were shot in early March 1957.
