New Delhi -- A doctor says Bollywood's veteran actor Pran has died of pneumonia his doctor said. He was 93.
Pran acted in more than 350 Hindi movies in a career spanning over six decades and played a vast range of roles _ a hero, villain and character actor.
Sanjeev Mehta, his doctor, said Pran Krishan Sikand, popularly known as Pran, was hospitalized more than two weeks ago in a Mumbai hospital and died Friday.
He was presented the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the Indian government's highest honour for cinema, in May at his Mumbai home.
Pran was best known for his roles as a villain from 1942 to 1991 in movies such as "Zanjeer'' (Shackles), "Bari Behen'' (Elder Sister), Azaad (A Free Man) and "Johnny Mera Naam'' (Johnny Is My Name).
Pran acted in more than 350 Hindi movies in a career spanning over six decades and played a vast range of roles _ a hero, villain and character actor.

Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Manish Tewari presented the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award for life time achievement to Pran Kishan Sikand (popularly known as – Pran) at his Bandra residence today in Mumbai. The veteran actor, 93, was unable to travel to New Delhi to attend the National Film Awards function held on May 3, 2013.
The Minister, accompanied by I & B Secretary Uday Kumar Varma and a delegation of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the Directorate of Film Festivals presented the coveted award, comprising a Swarn Kamal, citation, shawl and a cash prize of Rs 1 million (Rs 10 lakhs).

Upon hearing “Kingdom of Dreams”, which actor first comes to mind?... Well, if your answer points towards Vivek Oberoi, then you will be saddened, heart-broken and perhaps feeling a little cheated. It seems that tickets for the upcoming show have already been sold with the promise of Oberoi along with Isha Sharvani and Gauhar Khan. However, due to date problems, Oberoi has had to opt out of the theatre show, which he initially seemed very excited to be a part of.

March 22, 2010:Vivek Oberoi is set to star in a musical play written by Javed Akhtar. Isha Sharvani will be playing the female lead opposite him in this play, which will open at the newly-inaugrated live entertainment theatre at Gurgaon.
The play, titled Kingdom of Dreams, has been inspired by yesteryear actor Dilip Kumar’s 1965 film, Azaad. Azaad saw Dilip Kumar play a dashing prince, Meena Kumari as the troubled princess and Pran played the wicked minister. This time, Vivek will be playing the prince and Isha will be the princess. Isha and Vivek have earlier worked together on Kisna. Model Gauhar Khan.
