Sex & Nudity

  • Jim gets kicked in the butt with a boot. A cyborg looks all over a male character's weird outfit and he covers his private area when the cyborg starts looking down there and is visibly uncomfortable.
  • A romance develops between two characters over the course of the movie. By then end of the film, they are shown with their babies.

Violence & Gore

  • Some characters fall to their deaths (not graphic)
  • We see space galleons firing upon other outer space ships (that all look like old galleons but with a futuristic spin) with cannons, laser blasts and laser shots from small laser guns (and we then see that it's all just from a book that young Jim is reading). During this, some characters strike others.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some depictions/uses of alcohol used in the film as well as some smoking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Lots of strange looking alien creatures, many which are scary looking, and meant to be scary.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Many of Silver's crewmembers are killed.
  • The crew trying to escape from Treasure Planet while it's self destructing and about to explode can be intense for young viewers as they barely make it out alive.
  • A star goes supernova and the crew must react and try to outrun its damaging effects on their ship. During this, Jim saves Silver when the latter is knocked off the ship and huge pieces of matter nearly hit them and the ship. The star then turns into a black hole and their ship is being sucked toward it. Jim is told to secure the crewmembers' lifelines, but Scroop cuts one of them, sending a crewmember to his presumed death (we see him "fall" away from the ship until he disappears).
