New Zealand Leads!
cmmescalona7 April 2004
It's been quite a time since I saw Possum for the first time. But I was riveted to my seat.

The pacing and the mysterious development of what happens in this film is outsanding. I'm not so sure if it made it for he big prize in Australia and New Zealand, but it definitely deserves big praise.

Black and white, deep contrasts, available light, the woods, strange situations, an autistic -seemingly autistic, at least- girl. A beautiful brother with compassion and realism in his soul, and a father that seems to be the brutal counterweight in a very troubled world for Little Man, the boy that narrates this short.

A short masterpiece to have in mind for reference.
