Nice

If you see my other comments, you'll realise that I pay huge attention to the combination of music and acting in a movie. In "The Magic Portrait" (or "Valshebniya Portret" in bulgarian) they were both nicely combinated. I loved the story, everything was fine. It seemed like a fairy tale, it was realistic though. The clothings of the characters were nice and so were the actings. I liked that movie.

Beautiful Movie

Warning: Spoilers
this movie is one of the best fantasy movies from Russia, really!!!but it is really tragically, that this masterpiece is unseen. i really love this movie. joey Wang(credited as Gao Li) as Xiao Qin, the Chinese beauty cursed in the portrait was never so beautiful like in her early movies!!!! Sergej as Ivan is also good,an Wu Ma and Lao Shun are also good. PS. the German title is "Das Zauberbildnis" I will wish their will come an International DVD release with English and German subtitles!!!! The Movie was tragically never released in Denmark or Norway, so i cant say anything about the Scandinavian versions. Really Tragically for this good movie.

it is based on a chinese fairy tale, but it has some russian influences.i really liked this combination of traditional russian and chinese costumes, music was great too and ,of course, the actors.the russian actor was so nice!and the chinese girl too.they both fit together, even though i wish "ivan" fit with me....
