Minimalism, applied to soft porn
lor_4 January 2011
Prolific filmmakers automatically attract buffs' attention: recently it is the Francos, Sarnos and D'Amatos with their c. 200 title outputs, and in the old days there was a natural fascination with the Beaudines, Ulmers or serial helmers. In porn we have Barry Mahon, who carelessly created an immense body of work which has surprisingly been preserved (especially by Something Weird).

This ranks as one of the least of his efforts, with directing credit shared with a future XXX helmer Kemal Horulu. It is basically a dirty joke, stretched out mercilessly to feature length in the shaggy dog fashion currently associated with the Coen Bros.

Sam Stewart is the guy from New York who falls in with two southern honeys after his sports car breaks down. He regales them with tales of the Big Apple as they roll in the hay. We see busty strippers, also performers in Vegas, and typical footage of Forty Second Street, where movies like FINGER ON THE TRIGGER, A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS and LOVING COUPLES are playing.

What the fans get is full frontal nudity, and some rather attractive women on display, all ending when on cue mama shows up with a shotgun.

Certainly among the most minor of SWV revivals, though the usual shill writing notes for the DVD-R packaging tries in vain to make it sound vaguely interesting.
