Aired on Cartoon Network once back in 2003 as part of the now defunct Cartoon Theatre block.
The film had a limited release in the 2002 Kids First! Film Festival, which played in theaters in 15 cities across the US, including Disney's El Capitan theater in Los Angeles.
JD, Emmo and Sherman are given different names in the film's French dub. JD is called Sherman, Emmo is called Ringo and Sherman is called Arnold.
The film's composer Gregor Narholz also wrote several pieces of music that were used in the TV show SpongeBob SquarePants (1999).
Because the German credits were reused in the English dub, the voice actors in the English dub are uncredited. The only confirmed actor is Jimmy Hibbert, who voiced Emmo, Chuffie, Sherman and Dr. Quack, although the website Dubbing Wikia mentions that Alan Marriott and Lorelei King also had voiceover roles in the dub.
