Sex & Nudity

  • Some romance between Shriek and Dog, but Dog doesn't get it.
  • A character named Mindy Wonderful wears a midriff baring tank top.

Violence & Gore

  • General slapstick violence, nothing too intense.

Profanity

  • Mild profanity like "heck", "dang", "darn", "crud", "gosh", "stupid", "what the..."

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In Season 2 Episode 11, Cat is dressed as a German by wearing a lederhosen and holds out a frothy beverage, it's assumed to be beer. This is very brief.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In the episode "Teeth for Two", Cat is seen turning himself inside-out and comes out of Dog's mouth to brush his teeth while he's asleep. The scene is very graphic and will likely frighten young viewers.
  • Compared to other Nickelodeon cartoons, even "Rocco's Modern Life," except R-rated explicit "Ren and Stimpy," this show is much more adult-oriented, and likely would be a TV-PG (maybe even a TV-14 in some epiosdes). The themes of urban decay, corruption, smugness are more realistic and this show is adult oriented. Plus the Greasers are very violent towards them, realistic. They're like an analogy for inner city gangs and the Mafia and Latin Kings.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Although, in one episode, there is an innuendo that a character Winslow portayed as a ruler eats another character alive and splits a bone of them. Only chewing and splitting the bone is shown though as well as this happens in a reality changed by the main characters if I'm not mistaken.
  • In the episode "Remain Seated" there was a brain shown bleeding.
