The film has enjoyed an unusual cult status in Algeria since its release. The cult following remains four decades since the film's release.
Master Titto Khatri who played Shashi Kapoor's son in the film was scared of Shatrughan Sinha on the film sets as he had to slap and scold him in the scenes.Shashi Kapoor would keep Titto warm by giving him Ice Cream and Chocolates when he would feel terrified.But Shatrughan Sinha was also loving to him.
Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na 2008 debut film of Imran Khan had its title borrowed from the song Tera Mujse Hai Phele Ka Nata Koi which had a popular line in it as Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.
