The first episode, The Kidnapping, follows the arrival in Sicily of a young couple and their 9-year-old son, Paul Altamura. The father is visiting his homeland that he left to study in the USA when he is very young; he's willing to put his family money and his technological expertise working for the development of that region. The wife is in love with the classic Greek remains that so embellish the isle landscape. Their life soons turns into a nightmare, as their son is caught in the power game between two Mafia leaders, and the "new mafia" pressure to get the better part of the money in the development project.
The second episode, Condemned For Love, deals with the end of the rule of law in the region, through the connivance of Italian Mafia and emergent American drug-traffickers, rotten lawyers and condescendent magistrates. Carlo Arcuti was promoted from police lieutenant to captain, but all the arrests he achieves are nullified in the courts, and he leaves the woman he loves, Contess Barbara Arcuti, to try a new life in Rome.
Meanwhile, in Sicily, the revenge law manages to redress the balance of injustice, but only in a small degree.
