After the resounding success of Padmalaya's Himmatwala the same makers followed it with Justice Chaudhury and later they made Mawaali. The Padmalaya made 3 very successful hindi films in the year 1983. From 1983 to 1985 the South filmmakers made many hindi films which were very successful. In 1980 came Takkar Padmalaya's first hindi film, then in 1981 came Meri Aawaz Suno and in 1982 came Farz Aur Kaanoon.
Sri Devi's voice is dubbed in the film by a dubbing artiste.
The intro of beat / music of Suno Suno Mere Kahani Suno by Runa Laila from the album Superuna, was sampled for the intro beat of "Saath Mere Aaogi, Ice Cream Khaogi" from Justice Chaudhury. The intro music at 0:02 from "Saath Mere Aaogi" was also sampled from Cerrone's song "Love In C Minor" at 1:40. The same beat was also used in the song "Jahan Chaar Yaar Mil Jaye in Sharabi" ( Amitabh and Smita part). The same tune can also be heard in "Kisi Ke Pyar Mein " from Pasand Apni Apni. The original source was "I Can't Stand The Rain" by Eruption.
Moushumi who had just turned 35 was cast opposite the older Jeetendra and played an older woman throughout the whole movie. Hema Malini who was of the same age was also cast opposite the older Jeetendra but she got a song and several scenes from their younger days. After this movie Moushumi never played a romantic heroine. She got prematurely slotted in the older woman category playing maa or bhabhi though some of those roles were powerful (lawyer/ doctor).
Released on Eid festival in 1983 and proved a blockbuster.
