Actresses attending the 2018 Golden Globes are expected to join forces by wearing all black to protest sexual harassment and abuse in Hollywood, People confirms. Nominees such as Jessica Chastain, Meryl Streep, and Emma Stone are expected to join the protest. While the plan is for actresses to wear black to the Globes, the protest could extend to other awards shows such as the SAG Awards and the Oscars.

Best Drama Series “The Crown” “The Deuce” “The Handmaid’s Tale” “Game of Thrones” “Stranger Things”
Spoiler: “This Is Us”
Since the above predictions feature three returning series and a virtual lock in “The Handmaid’s Tale,” there’s a lot of room for spoilers. Not only could “This Is Us” very easily land its second straight nod for Best Drama Series, but series like “Mindhunter,” “The Good Doctor,” “Ozark,” “Mr. Robot,” “Better Call Saul,” and, yes, even “The Leftovers” could find their way into the final five. The Golden Globes like spotlighting new series, which benefits shows like “Mindhunter” and “Ozark” which haven’t been crowned by other awards shows just yet. The Globes could be the first, but we’re betting they won’t be able to resist David Simon’s “The Deuce” — given that all-star cast — and last year’s winner, “The Crown.” “Game of Thrones” and...

As devoted a cinephile as he is a visionary filmmaker, Guillermo del Toro will take every opportunity to lavish praise on his favorite films. In a recent Reddit Ama (“Ask me Anything”) to promote “The Shape of Water,” the director could hardly contain his enthusiasm for Greta Gerwig’s “Lady Bird,” which he said “moved [him] deeply.” He continued: “‘Lady Bird’ is a fantastic first film. Such intelligence and acute eye for drama and cinema. Deceivingly natural, full of style.”
More in line with his style, Del Toro is a huge fan of George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road,” which he called, “A masterpiece. In many ways, So kinetic, so dense, as to be digested slowly and in repeated viewings. A God at work.” He also loved Pixar’s “Coco, which was co-directed by Mexican-American filmmaker Adrian Molina. “The More World-themed stories, the better for all us storytellers,” said del Toro.

We were fortunate enough to interview talented Aussie filmmaker Ben Young on his debut feature film – the chilling thriller Hounds of Love, which is released in cinemas on July 28th…
So Ben, you have such a strong understanding of psychological abuse in a way not many people have. How did you develop such an understanding of what it feels like to be a woman trapped in an abusive relationship?
Men and women suffer abusive relationships, some physical, some psychological and I wanted to explore the emotional side as I don’t think we see that explored enough. So it was something that interested me. My mum is a crime writer, she writes crime fiction books and she had books all over the table for research and one was about a female serial killer and I thought that was interesting because I don’t hear about a lot of female serial killers.

Men and women are different in many ways though perhaps one of the most subtle and misunderstood is in the way we communicate in a group. There's a version of the "bro-code" for women which remains mostly a mystery - sometimes even to women - and considering how badly women are under-represented in the film industry, one doesn't often see the nuance of female interaction on the big screen.
Enter Sofia Coppola who, from her first feature, showed a capability of not only capturing the way women interact but doing so in a way that feels like we're in the middle of the conversation. With The Beguiled, Coppola returns the story to author Thomas Cullinan's original vision, telling it from the female perspective while also trimming the unnecessary to deliver an intimate observation on [Continued ...]...

Netflix’s “Glow” arrives at a time when women who step inside the squared circle are taken much more seriously than they were 30 years ago.
The show re-creates the world of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, the campy all-female promotion whose 1980s heyday is fictionalized in the new series starring Alison Brie. Fittingly, its subject helped start that process three decades ago.
Last weekend’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view was emblematic of the current state of women’s wrestling in WWE, both in terms of how far it’s come and how much further it still has to go. On the one hand, it featured the first-ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match (progress!), which guarantees the winner a championship match at the time of her choosing. On the other hand, it ended when a dude named James Ellsworth ascended the ladder and dropped the briefcase down...

Similar to lead character Pvt. Matt Ocre (Nicholas Hoult), screenwriter Chris Roessner joined the United States Army in July of 2001 to serve in the Reserves and earn college money. Two months later 9/11 changed everything. Suddenly he was thrust into a full-scale war in the Middle East and he needed to steel himself to that fact. He wasn’t in the Special Forces, Navy SEALs or Marines — he was just a soldier walking onto the frontlines like the rest. His story wasn’t one of unanimous heroics wherein he proved crucial to earning that “Mission Accomplished” banner everyone remembers as empty sentiment. Like so many military men and women, he entered Iraq at the beginning of something still unfinished today and left well before any true strides were made.
Roessner survived his stint and returned home with journals and photos depicting his experience. He took that money and enrolled in USC’s film school,...

Fandango is expanding beyond movie ticket sales. They have launched an online store called Fandango FanShop that will sell lots of movie merch to fans that include toys, prop replicas, t-shirts, hats, and other collectibles. One example of what they will be selling is the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Star Lord figure that you can check out below. Other movies that they will be selling merch for in the near future includes Wonder Woman, Baywatch, and Despicable Me 3. Chicago – The actualities that define adolescence are always prime for new territory in drama, and that is what the Chicago-based film “The View from Tall” accomplishes. Co-directed by Erica Weiss and Caitlin Parrish, it will be screened at the Midwest Independent Film Festival on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017 (details below).
The story centers on Justine (Amanda Drinkall), a highly intelligent high school senior who feels like an outsider in her insular adolescent community. Her rebellion was a consensual relationship with a teacher, and the subsequent problems when the situation is exposed has the teacher exiled, and places Justine in therapy. Her facilitator is Douglas (Michael Patrick Thornton), a wheelchair bound therapist who frees her thoughts and reactions. Their intimacy evokes feelings that neither one of them expect, which raises the suspicions of Justine’s sister Paula (Carolyn Braver).

Now That was an ending.
For some reason, that ending didn't even cross my mind while watching Colony Season 2 Episode 11, but now I fear for the lives of Will, Katie, Gracie and Charlie.
A "Lost Boy" with that much emptiness in his eyes won't have much care for his blood relatives in the long run. He's on a new, exciting path.
At this point in the story, I don't even know where I stand anymore. Everything has become so confusing.
Not confusing as to the need to fight against the Raps, that's a given. What's become confusing is the how. During Colony Season 1 when Katie and Will were on different pages, it genuinely seemed like a moral dilemma.
But now that we know a couple new things, such as the colony being marked for extinction and the ease in which the entire thing can go up in a puff of smoke,...

There’s no question that men and women see the world completely differently. As if we need evidence but I even mentioned how yesterday which was International Women’s Day, the fact that we even have this holiday highlights the humongous discrepancy between men and women in our society. Women shouldn’t need their own holiday. If all things were equal there wouldn’t be a need for it. But it’s not just equality that separates us. Clearly our anatomies and physiological profiles make us different but the male and female perception of the world we live in couldn’t be further apart. To demonstrate

Louie Anderson has dedicated yet another award to his mother.
The actor and comedian took home the award for best supporting actor in a comedy series at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday, honoring his mom in a heartfelt acceptance speech.
“I’m very grateful for this award. To my mom, who raised 11 children, and my dad was mean to her,” he said. “And no matter how tough it got for Laura Stella Anderson, she never lost her humanity. She had so much of it that it dribbled onto me — I didn’t want it, but I found it, and...

Veteran’s Day is November 11. While we all try to escape from the most exasperating Presidential Campaign in our history let me pay tribute to the Men and Women who have served in the military to insure we keep our electoral process and our freedoms.
Having served in the Navy four years (there he goes again!) I have a keen interest in any movie about the military, especially the sea service. I did serve during peace time so had no experience with combat but still spent most of my tour of duty at sea on an aircraft carrier, the USS Amerca CV66. Among other jobs I ran the ship’s television station for almost two years. Movies have always been important to me and so providing a few hours of entertainment every day when we were at sea was just about the best job I could have had.

In recent days, actress-singer Zendaya has come out to deny that she's playing the love interest in Spider-Man: Homecoming. This comes months after a rumor hit the web that she was playing Peter Parker's most iconic paramour, Mary Jane Watson. I've debated with Mario and Jammer on the Los Fanboys Podcast whether or not she really is playing Mj or not, and now I'm starting think they're right: She's not.
To recap, regarding Zendaya's character, all we really know is that her name is supposedly Michelle, and now we have a description of what she's like.
While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Zendaya gave this description for Michelle:
"My character is like very dry, awkward, intellectual and because she’s so smart, she just feels like she doesn’t need to talk to people, like, 'My brain is so far ahead of you that you’re just not really on my level.

Election day is now underway, and a slew of A-list musicians have continued to voice their support of Hillary Clinton, rallying for the Democratic presidential nominee across the country.
On the eve of the election, Lady Gaga took the stage in North Carolina, addressing Clinton backers at a midnight rally.
“If we are true, true Americans, we must go from viewing his followers as our adversaries to viewing them as our allies. What does she say? What do we say? We are stronger together. And what I see in this remarkable woman is that she is ready to restore peace in this country.

The world waits for Paramount to debut the first trailer for Silence, but Martin Scorsese fans won’t just have a new film from the director to look forward to this year. The Museum of the Moving Image, located in Astoria, Queens, announced today that they will be holding the first major exhibition tied to the director’s iconic body of work in the U.S., along with a comprehensive retrospective of his own work and hundreds of classics that have been restored under his supervision by the Film Foundation.
The exhibition will pull from the director’s personal collection, including materials from his films, featuring “costumes, props, storyboards, set photographs, screenplays,” as well as “objects from his childhood and projections of scenes from his work.” Also included in the exhibition will be production materials for Silence. We're super excited for Marvel to bring Black Panther to the big screen in his solo film and very interested to see what Wakanda looks like. As it turns out, you might be able to help with that. A new casting call is looking for extras. Chadwick Boseman is set to reprise the role he debuted in Captain America: Civil War and will be joined by Michael B. Jordan, playing villain Erik Killmonger, and Lupita Nyong'o who recently revealed she's playing Nakia, one of the Dora Milaje. The Walking Dead's Danai Gurira is playing the leader of the Dora Milaje. The most recent additions to the cast added Rogue One's Forest Whitaker, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, and Florence Kasumba but next could be you. ComicBook.com spotted the open casting call sheet which tells us filming will start in January of 2017 and go through May. The casting call itself will take place in Norcross,...

“Do Not Resist” opens with peaceful protest: Men and women of all colors and ages rail against an oppressive police force that is actively killing them, but as the clock strikes midnight, the mood changes. “If you’re found after 12:00, we cannot ensure your safety,” a young woman says, portending what’s to come. “The police have not told us how they will respond to anyone they find after 12:00.” A curfew has been set. Hundreds of heavily armed officers — equipped with shields, rifles, and tanks — are approaching large swaths of impassioned protesters. Then the police release the tear.

The world of “Game of Thrones” is a dangerous place. Men and women wake up each morning wondering if today is the day treachery brings them down. It’s a world of battle and blood, muck and grime. Yet for all that, it’s also a bastion of fabulous fashion. Each character has a distinct style, and if that style changes, it’s either a reflection of their changed life circumstances of making a subtle statement to the audience. The men are adorned in crowns and intricately cut-out doublets. The knights wear armor worked over in metallurgy that evokes embroidery. Even the amount of detail that goes into the peasants’ clothing is remarkable. But nothing holds a candle to the works of art created by the costumer designers for the noblewomen. From Cersei and Sansa, to Catelyn and Daenerys, the early seasons were a bloody fight for power punctuated with flits of color and brocade.

By now it’s pretty clear that “Mad Max: Fury Road” is one of — if not The — most feminist action film of all time. Men and women working together to survive in a harsh post-apocalypse don’t have time to quibble over the reproductive organs of their cohorts. A bastion of social justice conversation, it’s not So of surprise that Tumblr birthed a new blog all about how Max is good feminist ally. By combining the old Ryan Gosling ‘Hey Girl’ macro with “Fury Road” imagery, a new meme is born. The only surprise? How long it took for this to happen. It’s been a Whole Week guys. Get it together. Men and women around the world are uniting on social media to show support for Bruce Jenner in the wake of his 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer, in which he spoke candidly about his gender transition.
Fans have started using the hashtag #PaintYourNailsForBruce on social media as an initiative to show support for the former athlete, who said during his interview that he longed to wear nail polish long enough for it to chip.
Australian radio station Kiis 106.5 launched the trend by encouraging listeners to don a manicure in support of the Keeping Up with the Kardashians personality, 65.

Between this May’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, it seems like Marvel movies are just getting bigger and bigger. It has already been confirmed that Chadwick Boseman’s Wakandan ruler T’Challa (aka the Black Panther) will play a key role in the latter, and now an Atlanta casting notice has revealed that he won’t be the only visiting dignitary.
The superhero threequel, which will be directed by The Winter Soldier helmers Anthony and Joe Russo, is set to kick off filming in Georgia in less than two weeks, which means everyone is scrambling to get extras in place. Now, a new casting notice from Tammy Smith Casting has stated that a production in the state is looking for African men and women between 18 and 75, with a “casual look or Ethnic Wardrobe (is a plus, but not mandatory),” to begin filming scenes this May.

Amazing Spider-Man #15
Written by Dan Slott
Pencils by Giuseppe Camuncoli
Published by Marvel Comics
Well, it’s finally over. After six months and nearly thirty books, including set-up and tie-in issues, Spider-Verse has finally come to an end. After putting an end to the Inheritor threat, the remaining Spiders get a chance to find their way home and get back to their lives. But before they can do that, there’s a last bit of convoluted exposition to wade through before Peter Parker – and the readers – can move on.
To start, the best part of the comic is the various Spider-People getting a chance to simply talk and interact with each other, something that could have been in the main event, but for whatever reason, was ignored in favor of epic battles and prophecies. Most of the characters banter a little bit before heading home to their own dimensions, which...

While the "Dawson's Creek" alum looks stunning in the cover shot -- rocking newly-dyed platinum tresses and a retro A-line dress -- Williams says most days she's exhausted. "I feel like I’m so good at raising a kid when I’m not working. I don’t forget anything. I’ve got everything covered. It’s a real luxury to have a moment when I’m not scrambling," she tells the mag. "I feel like most of my life, I’m trying to do two things at once, both to the best of my abilities. So that leaves me feeling pretty exhausted. I’m the person who falls asleep all the time,...

After being forced to flee from the Inheritors at every turn, the army of Spider-People finally gets a chance to take the fight directly to their pursuers. This is the final battle, the last stand against an unstoppable force. Can the Spiders save themselves before the Inheritors carry out their master plan?
Right out of the gate, it’s obvious that this issue sets out to be one thing: a massive fight scene. Anyone itching for long term ramifications and moral repercussions will have to wait for next issue’s epilogue. Despite the action, however, the book fizzles out when it counts. The Inheritors, lauded as ultra-powerful and unstoppable, are reduced to Saturday morning cartoon villains by the end of the book. The Inheritors, who have shrugged off bullets,...
