The usual stuff.
Ky-D26 March 2005
Those familiar with Japanese soft-porn will fell right at home with this unexceptional title. Those whom are uninitiated will be caught a bit off guard.

At a high school in Tokyo, several of the female students have been moon-lighting as prostitutes. A teacher catches onto this fact and goes about putting an end to it. Things go awry when he discovers he turns into a sex demon with tentacles whenever he gets aroused (huh?). He turns from savior to vilifier, poor prostitute school girls.

There are some deaths, but no blood or gore. The sex scenes are a mixed bag; some are pretty good, others are short and uninteresting. The is nudity aplenty and the material is definitely on the odd side, but fans of the anime will find it too tame to warrant continued interest.

Better if you aren't familiar with the genre.

Watch as a college professor tries to help his poor students who need direction.

Yes, Mr. Tojo is very concerned with his female students. He should, because this girls are out at night prostituting themselves and selling their panties. So yeah, a step or two beyond your averaged troubled student. However, they are college students so quite frankly I guess they are old enough to decide things for themselves. Still, it is nice that he cares so much, to bad that he sprouts tentacles and proceeds to pleasure the girls to death! Yes, this film is absolutely insane, but I kind of liked it anyway. It is basically a live action hentai, as they try to bring to life the tentacle monster that pleasures girls in the most inappropriate ways. While the sex is not hard core it is a step or two above a sexually charged R rated movie. Basically, a soft core porn is what you are watching when watching this. It would not have been all that good except for the fact the girls are really cute and there is something about the way they almost show certain things that makes me more excited that actually seeing them. To often in hard core adult films the go from clothed to completely naked and I have never been a fan of that as it is so overdone it is pathetic. Here we get to see some nice outfits and it is basically a tease. So while not super wonderful it held my attention.

Not as good as it sounds.

Cute Japanese schoolgirl hookers are raped and killed by their teacher, who, having been possessed by a demon, turns into a rapacious, multi-tentacled sex monster when aroused.

Welcome to the weird and wonderful world of live-action Hentai, where Japanese soft-core porn and the bizarre collide. In Angel of Darkness, no female orifice is safe, as Mr. Tojo, the chemistry professor, unleashes his thrashing, gristly, and suspiciously penis-like appendages upon the sexy students of Mitomo Women's College, pleasuring the poor girls to death! Sounding like an exploitation fan's dream come true, this film (the first in a series) is nowhere near as entertaining as the synopsis suggests: the action is very repetitive (you've seen one topless teenager being ravaged by slimy tentacles, you've seen 'em all!), the story is dull, and with absolutely no gore to help matters, the whole shebang leaves one feeling a little disappointed.

Anyone who has seen truly messed-up animated tentacle Hentai such as Urotsukidôji knows that this kind of stuff has the potential to be mind-blowingly mad when turned into live-action. It's a shame that Angel of Darkness didn't try harder to match its 2D counterparts in the crazy stakes! 5.5 out of 10, rounded up to 6 for IMDb.

erotic tentacled demon in a soft-core Japanese flick
trashgang21 September 2011
Anime, a strange thing coming from Japan, just like the comics some are being turned into a feature. As they did with Angel Of Darkness. I can't say that I really enjoyed it. It's more a soft-core flick then a horror flick. Some girls on a college wants to earn some money and go for prostitution but one of the teachers who is so-called concerned with them is in fact possessed by a sex demon. When he turns in that demon, it's done in a laughable way. Just some green light and an effect on the editing, but the teacher that becomes the demon has tentacles, guess what, they are penis tentacles which he uses to penetrate the girls with until they die. The penetration itself is never shown but the attacked girls do show their juggs and only one goes full monty. Nothing is blurred like in so many Eastern flicks but it's soft-core so no underneath parts are shown. No blood or gore is attached to the attacks. It's just a weird demon, nothing more nothing less and the ending you could see coming once the female tells the problem of being lonely and not having sex...Strange that this flick hasn't got a proper release being tame on every part, but I found my copy with the help of some US friends, glad I have it but to say I recommend it, don't think so.

Angel of Darkness
Scarecrow-8817 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
"You're all lustful beasts. You're just slaves to sex. Don't deny it!"

Teenage girls from Mitomo's Women's College prostitute themselves to adult johns who pass by for spending cash that will afford them luxurious jewelry and clothes! What these girls don't realize is that a custodial professor has a beast which lurks within, surfacing when aroused or excited! By the beast I mean slimy phallic tentacles that "tickle the fancy" of victims, providing them with the ultimate pleasure("Don't worry, Eiko & Ryoko died in ecstasy.")before leaving them dead. It's mentioned at the end as Tojo, whose eyes are black and soulless, his humanity gone, is molesting Miyoko, that he'll "suck the sex right out of you." Alllllrighty then!

Something right out of Cronenberg territory, director Mitsunori Hattori's Angel of Darkness deals with monstrous sexual organs that kill. Rather humorous in it's candidness about sex and what can come from it, the value of putting out and turning tricks, particularly if you are young, with an appealing vitality. Such willingness to offer yourself for cash comes with a price as seen in this film. It's depravity I'm certain will polarize many who enter, especially it's provocative(..to put it mildly)subject matter and bluntness regarding sexual activity..how older men are easily propositioned by these pretty young things wanting nice accessories and wardrobes. Miki, the most casual in her prostitution and it's benefits, you know is doomed to pay for her immorality. She practically celebrates her after hours activities! Noriko is the virginal friend of Miki's, a modest, unassuming girl who doesn't approve of her behavior and voices concerns, especially since their school pals are winding up dead.

Mr. Tojo is the professor afflicted with the tentacles, receiving headaches, chest pains, and black-outs before they slither into the crotches of the victims, caressing their bodies before ultimately suffocating them. Nurse Miyoko is Tojo's girlfriend, recognizing that something is wrong with him. Athletics professor, Mr. Takahashi, also begins noticing Tojo's strange behavioral shifts, and begins questioning whether he might be the killer after confessions of physical ailments(..not to mention, Tojo was on his way to rescue the girls soon found dead from selling their bodies)throw up red flags.

As the film progresses, Tojo, who seems quite humane and sincere regarding the girls in his class, grows more and more psychotic and devious. I gotta say that when you see this icky thing methodically moving between the legs of a girl, more times than not helpless to defend herself against it due to this orgasmic frenzy it causes, it's shocking stuff..or at least to me.

What should give viewers the creeps is that the tentacles have a mouth and teeth, and it is later established that Mr Tojo might've been taken over by a demon. Interesting question is raised, I think..is the ultimate pleasure worth dying for?!

Tedious and lame attempt to adapt hentai anime to live action
Groverdox9 July 2020
The original excrescence known as "Angel of Darkness" was a four-part hentai OVA series released in 1994. It came in the wake of "Urotsukidoji", and you know what that means: yes, tentacles, though the hentai also added themes of sexual sadism.

This film, the first in a five part series of live-action adaptations of the anime, is a pretty poor attempt to bring this material to life on the big... er, small screen (it went straight to video, of course). It really bears no relation to the sickening insanity the OVAs provided, perhaps thinking it would be enough to show some glistening, live action tentacles crawling, however unconvincingly, over the bodies of a few topless girls. There's no penetration shown, and not even any full frontal nudity, just some breast shots and a charming scene where a bare bottom'd girl gets a shot.

Nor is there really much of a story. Of course, hentai was never known for its plotting, but they were able to make up for that with the variety of depravity on screen and paper - consider Maeda's work, for example. But here the budget was apparently only enough to handle a few admittedly hot girls, a school, a park, and some tentacles.

It's about a few girls who, despite coming from rich families, prostitute themselves for money to buy expensive trinkets. Their chemistry professor, Mr Tojo, seems to be genuinely concerned about this behaviour. He does not know, however, that he seems to be possessed by some kind of sex demon which takes over whenever he is alone with one of these unresponsive girls, raping them a killing them somehow. This happens a few times with a few different girls, and then the movie is over.

Not being able to throw too much insanity at us, we quickly realise how little the movie has in it, and how pointless it is to watch. At least it's only one hour and ten minutes long.
