Very strange director this Louis Cuny, he directed a lot of short movies and only seven long in 24 years. There are a few entertaining moments for that crime comedy movie from 1947, all the beginning with energic young detective (Yves Furet, who wrote the story) getting clues on thieves and crime scenes, and the great final scene in the mad collector den, a Belphegor creepy atmosphere. But all the cabaret sequences are weak and boring. Casting is great with young Raymond Pellegrin, Jean Debucourt, Louis Seigner, André Gabriello, Daniel Gélin, Andrex, Jean Brochard and the always good Pierre Larquey.
