"Your parents never told you the truth. The year of your birth, there was a prophecy that our leader would be born to liberate us. That leader is you." Yes, that's basically a line from the recent "Jupiter Ascending" trailer, but no, this exact quote comes from "Exodus: Gods and Kings," the latest Biblical epic attempting to shatter the Christmastime box office. From "Gladiator" and "The Counselor" director Ridley Scott, "Exodus" retells the classic Moses legend with ex-Batman Christian Bale as the chosen one and Joel Edgerton as Ramesses, wearing more eye-liner than Jack Nicholson's Joker. This is The Good Book as The Comic Book. There's already controversy surrounding Scott's decision to whitewash cast — a fair and necessary conversation that could pick up steam closer to its release — but as far as white-casts-playing-Middle-Eastern-characters are concerned, "Exodus: Gods and Kings" has a mighty ensemble to amplify its CG spectacle.

Like many modern Christians, Huff (Charlie O'Connell) has developed his very own warped interpretation of The Bible. The misogynistic stories that Huff reads from his copy of "The Good Book" are purposefully designed to teach his three stepdaughters (Jenna Stone, Elly Stefanko, Amber Marie Bollinger) their proper place in the world, reducing their self-worth to mere sex objects to be traded and sold for the betterment of mankind. It is no surprise that Huff's wife, Lorelei (Elina Madison), is afraid to leave her idyllically attractive daughters alone with their violent and sex-crazed stepfather. Luckily, Huff spends a lot of time with his mistress, Laci (Natasha Alam), with whom he plans to escape to Mexico; but, in order to afford his early retirement, Huff invests in a drug deal that -- of course -- goes horribly wrong. Huff is then positioned to chase his three sexy stepdaughters (the proverbial pigs of this tale) around,...

Civil War Rust are a band straight-out of the infamous music factory that’s the East Bay Area in Northern California. Made up of Rudy, Sean Ryan and Drew, they play punk and so far have released two E.P’s: Right to Remain Silent was the first and was recorded in March 2010, The Good Book was released less than a year later, in February 2011. The first Ep, as many do, laid down an introduction to what the band’s sound was going to be like and was going to grow from. From this Ep, influences such as American Steel, Pinhead Gunpowder and Dead To Me most notably were the ones who were mentioned by a majority of critics and fans alike. The second Ep followed in almost the same vein although it does have a more grown-into feel,...

The Bible is getting its own reality show! Game Show Network has given a pilot order to The American Bible Challenge, an original one-hour game show which tests contestants on their Biblical knowledge. It is executive produced by Who Wants To Be A Millionaire executive producer Michael Davies of Embassy Row and Tom Forman of RelativityREAL. Also involved as consultant producers are Nick Stuart and Maura Dunbar of Odyssey Networks, the country’s largest multi-faith media coalition. “The American Bible Challenge celebrates America’s passion for The Bible in an entertaining, unconventional format that makes The Good Book more accessible to the whole family,” said Gsn’s new Evp Programming Amy Introcaso-Davis, who joined the network in November. Given the spiritual subject of the show, it’s not surprising that the contestants won’t be vying for cash prizes for themselves. “The competition will be rooted in personal stories of faith and community,...
