Being prolific ensures a lot of clunkers from an auteur, and Jonathan Morgan at Wicked Pictures is hardly immune from this truism, as evidenced by the throwaway high-concept feature "Sweet Dreams". Its only value is an okay showcase of beautiful Shayla LaVeaux in her prime.
Formulaic structure, similar to those old loop-carrier features of old, has a pre-"Mad Men" series setting of three ad execs in a conference room, at the end of an all-night brainstorming session. Shayla has her head down on the table snoozing as co-workers Randy Spears and Kyle Stone argue about their impending doom, as the client is due in about 15 minutes and they have no good ideas to pitch at the presentation to win an upcoming Perfume campaign contract.

They think up lame ideas, usually one-word tags like "Wet", "Dirty", "Lost" or "Forbidden Love", and say them to drowsy Shayla, hoping to inspire her imagination. Thus transpires five sex vignettes that are merely the tired superstar dreaming, followed by a finale that is particularly stupid, as she saves the day accidentally (winning a $44 million account from gullible client Penny Swing in a NonSex role) and the guys get fired. A brief 6th sex scene has boss Frank Fortuna humping Shayla as sort of a reward (for him, obviously). I've classified this as a spoiler since I treat Adult Cinema on a par with mainstream, so in the context of "Sweet Dreams" this finale is the only possible surprise or twist afforded to a patient viewer, and I must warn said nearly- nonexistent viewer (nobody but me is sampling these golden oldies of assembly-line porn anymore) ahead of time.
Staged on cheap sets, the sex scenes are well-performed in pantomime style, reducing "Sweet Dreams" to the "All-Sex" bin in the virtual video store, gussied up by the lame "Mad Men" (not yet on TV when this was shot) format. Shayla is beautiful and arousing, and of the other girls I must single out a mysterious one: Kasorn Swan, who evidently was auditioned and cast as the next Kobe Tai, and in fact is prettier and with a better figure than that Vivid superstar. She made many a gonzo video but I haven't seen her -probably because gonzo ain't my thing.
