Initially, Lost Illusions was directed by Líbero Miguel, replaced by Sérgio Britto. TV Paulista, which was later bought by the businessman Roberto Marinho, had already shown, live, a version of Lost Illusions, under the direction of the same Libero Miguel. Osmar Prado was part of the cast of this production. In Rio de Janeiro, the soap opera was shown at 7:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday. Starting in May, it was at 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Author Ênia Petri and director Líbero Miguel, who were married, had already worked together on TV Paulista, in soap operas such as Eu Amo Esse Homem and Tortura d'Alma, both of which appeared in 1964.
