- The floppy disk version of King's Quest V features text dialog and has no voice acting. Several of the characters including the rat, the bee and the ant has their upper torso show moving their hands. This was later cut out of the CD-ROM version with only their faces shown. An Easter egg glitch involving King Graham putting his cloak on sled and being in a boat with the sea monster attacking him, has been removed in the CD-ROM version.
- The NES version to King's Quest V features text dialog and has no voice acting. The graphics has been reduced to low resolution NES graphics. Many of the things removed are "Nectar of the Gods." Also reference to a drunk man at the desert camp has been removed and many reference to death has been toned down including Queen Icebella ordering the wolves to kill Graham and Cedric to having them thrown in the dungeon. Also Cedric is turned to stone by Mordack instead of being killed by him. Some of the characters including Amanda and Austin, a man and a dog from the Inn have been missing from the game. The company Konami name is included in the title screen.
- The 2006 Kings Quest Collection on Windows XP fixes the OUT OF HEAP! error message. Also a save glitch appears as you're trying to save your game making it very tricky to save and requiring to open the directory files to fix it. Also the game crashes after a few hours of game play.
