Simply too simple

This little tale starts in a nice place. Getting straight into and doing a little re-cap was a way of keeping the brain awake.

From here the story plods along, a few interesting storylines pop up during the film, but they are put back on the self too soon without a good read. I found myself thinking of many ways in which this film could be better. Even a different direction.

A sense of nothing actually happening washed over me.

Some slightly unrealistic law enforcement occurs and a slightly dull and unclimactic ending really pan this film out as mediocre. Saying all that it was enough to keep me awake, just don't expect any excitement.

Standard made for TV movie that is mediocre at best

The movie starts out okay. I like Joanna Kearns so thats what made me stop on the channel in the first place.

The TV synopsis says "After a woman decides to file for divorce from her manipulative husband, she learns that he has hired someone to kill her.". I like crime dramas so I decide to watch.

Tim Matheson puts on a good portrayal as the would-be hit man. He convinces her to "play dead" until he can get the money from her husband, then he will give her all the evidence (taped conservations) so she can get her husband convicted.

Well, about half way through the movie, the dialogue starts getting pretty lame between the wife and hit man. They apparently start having feelings for each other. Give me a break. The man is a hired assassin. You think any normal would look past that little deal breaker? I quit watching when the movie started taking that direction.

Great movie

A while ago, my cousin and I became completely obsessed with the Lifetime Movie Network. And every night at nine o'clock, there would be a Lifetime movie. There were so many of them, there would be a new one everynight. So one night, At the Mercy of a Stranger came on. I really don't think you can judge a Lifetime movie as you would a really high quality movie. Lifetime movies are movies where big actors started. They're not the greatest, but they're very fun to watch when you're relaxed and looking for a good time. I personally love them.
