Theology of Liberation vs Conservative Catholics: in favor or against the poor
Amazing documentary about the clash between conservative and left-wing (Theology of Liberation) groups in Catholic Church and their positions against social change and in favor of status que or against exploitation by large landowners and in favor of land reform and the rights of native people. It is impressive to contrast the intelligent and deep analysis of the progressive groups (not only of the priests but also low formally educated people who are however engaged in ecclesial base communities) with the poor, cynical and tautological testimonies by the reactionary side, including both a bishop and a landowner leader who has been a presidential candidate and member of parliament. I seriously need to know better the shrewd filmography of the brave filmmaker Helena Solberg!
