Funny film--what happened to it?
Nikki-130 July 2001
Funny black-and-white film shot mostly in the desert. Saw it at a film festival (LAIFF?). Good characters and some bizarre stuff, like a naked guy bouncing on a trampoline. Beautifully shot black-and-white widescreen (don't know by who), and a great jazz score (ditto). Heard it was going to get a real release under the name Hang Your Dog In The Wind (also listed here, which is confusing, but the one I saw was called Mile Marker 40, I think), but never saw it at theaters. Would deserve a couple weeks at an art house, but not commercial enough to do more than that. Still, wonder why it hasn't shown up on IFC or Sundance Channel. I'd like to see it again to see if it stands up. Some very funny scenes and a definitely unique director's vision, as I recall.
