Fun nightmares
Rectangular_businessman6 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
An entertaining dark comedy animation about a man who keeps waking up from a series of bizarre nightmares, each one weirder than the previous one.

The playful tone turns what could easily have been a horror story into something highly amusing (The scene with the giant intestines falling from the the flat ceiling of the protagonist's apartment still feels as something straight out from a horror film, however)

From all the shorts by Guido Manuli I have seen so far, this is easily my favorite one. A fun idea, cleverly executed, with very creative visual gags.

No idea of why this is called "Incubus", though.

The teenagers on Elm Street got off cheap

Warning: Spoilers
Guido Manuli isn't a prolific animator, but his output includes some of the most memorable cartoons ever made. *Incubus* concerns an urbanite whose forty winks are interrupted by a number of horrible albeit very funny nightmares. When our hero finally wakes up and goes to face the day, he finds that reality leaves him no better off...
