Even though Greg Berlanti and company have crafted quite the interconnected DC Universe over on The CW, there are still some big names that have yet to put in appearances. And as awesome as those fall crossovers tend to be, it’s hard to imagine a DC Universe existing without certain characters – like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, for instance.
Now, a lot of this has to do with red tape that’s long separated WB’s film and television divisions. Heck, we remember a time when an animated series, The Batman, couldn’t make use of characters like Scarecrow, Two-Face and Ra’s al Ghul because studio executives thought viewers wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between them and those appearing in Christopher Nolan’s movies!
But, in recent years, we’ve seen a dramatic shift that’s allowed for fans’ dreams to come true. Just last season,...

Legends Of Tomorrow is at its strongest when the cast and crew are having as much fun making the show as I am watching. The cast all have good acting chops, and the stories are often great, but the show peaks when the cast is on the edge of breaking down because someone else is being hilarious, or when their interactions are so natural it feels like they're not even trying to act. The Freaky Friday situation this week gave us plenty of the former, and Brandon Routh and Tala Ashe gave us a bunch of the latter. But that's not to...

Despite the abundance of tough women on TV and movies, and the British film industry declaring last year as “the year of strong women”, there still aren’t very many leading roles showcasing women in action/super hero/sci-fi movies. Why is there such a multitude of “strong women” in supporting roles but not in starring roles? It may have something to do with Hollywood’s poorly executed attempts at female empowerment.
When it comes to supporting roles, there are plenty of female characters who’ve appeared in recent years who were described as a “strong woman” or a “badass woman” or a “kick ass woman”. Whether it’s Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road or the women of Agents of Shield or Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones, you’ll find numerous formidable, butt-kicking women all over the big and small screen, who are second or third billed...

We asked our writers to recommend graphic novels that deserved more fanfare, and here's what they chose...
Geek tastes running tall and wide, when we asked our writers to recommend favourite books that they felt hadn't received the levels of popularity or public recognition they deserved, in came a heap of suggestions. Too many for one piece, hence us dividing the entries into four separate lists: adult sci-fi, fantasy and horror fiction; graphic novels; children's/Ya fiction; and non-fiction.
We'll let you use the power of your eyeballs to see which one of those lists you're currently reading. And in the spirit of the piece, hope you'll join in by providing your own suggestions to keep the recommendations coming in the comments section. Sharing: it's what makes geek communities great.

We have the details regarding what Dean Cain and Helen Slater will have to do with Supergirl. The former superhero actors will take on the role of Melissa Benoist’s Kara’s adoptive parents. Yes, the duo will not be reprising their former roles unlike what some rumors spread. The upcoming CBS show is expected to go into production this summer for a fall premier date as they finish up last minute touches.
Fans of Dean and Helen should be glad that Supergirl has their support. It will just be awkward to see them play the parents of Kara instead of Superman or Supergirl. However, it is nice to see that they can be included in his generations tale. I do wonder though who they will hire to play the role of Clark Kent? They did hint that he will have a special role on the show.
