When Burt Reynolds and german actor / producer Til Schweiger worked together in "Driven" in the summer of 2000, Schweiger asked Burt Reynolds if he would like to join him in Germany for his next movie. Burt immediately accepted because he liked Schweiger and visited Germany in October 2000. Burt tells this in an interview featured in the dvd-bonus-material.
The scenes with Burt were shot in Munich. Although everyone was happy to be able working with Burt his scenes were heavily cut "to give the movie more pace" as Schweiger stated. One of the german actors got hit hard by Burt but didn't moan at all, stating he felt honored to be punched by Burt Reynolds.
Luckily the german dvd got lots of Bonus-Material where the uncut scenes with Burt can be seen and also feature his real voice, because he was dubbed in the final movie. There is even an option on the dvd where the deleted scenes with Burt can be integrated in the movie.
