Slight, uncompromising and entertaining

A Sign From God is the ultimate disaster comedy. However, instead of external disasters (like The Big Bus) the disaster comes because of Caveh's (Caveh Zahedi) inability to ever become an active participant in life. In the course of one day, he and his girlfriend get evicted from their apartment and wreck their car. He then wrecks another car he borrows, loses a bike he borrows, is unable to raise funding for his movie, is unable to borrow enough money to pay his landlady, and ends up breaking up with his girlfriend. The movie is filled mostly with ordinary, everyday screwups - car accident, etc. Therefore, nothing much actually happens in the movie. However, the movie has its charms, is often quite funny, and is pretty truthful (i.e., none of the characters make a sudden excursion into Hollywood cute ending land).
