Ole Confesses to an unsympathetic priest
Havan_IronOak8 July 2002
Ole is suffering the angst of coming out. When he turns to his pastor, he gets little help or understanding.

Filmed in black and white this movie seems 20 years out of date, but perhaps the cultures of some countries are still that far in the past.

I like it

...maybe not for the story itself, but for delicate manner to use and explore and show the nuances. It is more a film of silence, sound of words, gestures, emotion like a sort of spider web. A priest. A teenager . A confession. The mother of boy. The inflexibility of spiritual father , convinced than the option can be only God or the forbidden love. And the words of young Ole. I love the poetry of this special film, not unfamiliar because the universe of Frank Mosvold is defined by this beautiful well crafted form of poetry of the image , sound of words , gestures. A film remembering not exactly the inflexibility of the priest but the profound loneliness of a young man front to the coming up. So, a gem.
