Why can't German girls be like Finnish girls?
arkif12 September 2007
So, that's what was driving the man. German girls know no honour! And you can't even educate them to become virtuous! Alas, what dire a task!

Certainly, in the hands of an organisation as hard and dedicated as the SS it finally found a worthy pursuer. Quite interestingly Himmler doesn't seem to have been very preoccupied with the killing of Jews, he mentions that for about 10 seconds or so and reserves the rest of his speech for teaching his listeners how to radiate optimism, how to become a trusted player in the field of snitch compensation and generally how to address Russian generals, how to deal with SS trainees, how to resettle Germans, how to make examples of defeatists and so on.

Well, that makes him a CEO, I guess. No really, listen to it! It's all about structural reforms, competitiveness and the right spirit. So far the formal aspects. In substance the most surprising thing is Himmler's lack of faith in the common German, who, for him, is some kind of whiny, overbearing and corrupt fool. Hence the need for the order as the harsh refuge of the uncorrupted to which no weakling ever had access.

I am better than thou!

I just wonder whether this kind of thing had a good psychological impact on the Wehrmacht. Himmler is a little, how to put this?, naive here, suggesting that Weapon-SS soldiers should pat their Wehrmacht buddies on the shoulder and say: "Come on! Things are jolly good, you know?" Brings us back to CEOs.

Anyway, a highly interesting view into the center of evil, which, on examination, turns out to be a mixture of fantasy and irresponsibility.
