I never expected to own this game, but having seen every episode of the show at least once, I had to play it. What I found was a thoroughly entertaining romp through Hazzard County. The driving engine might not be the best ever, but it's consistent, and certainly playable. Mission based racing games don't always work in my opinion, but this one certainly makes sense. Laid out like an episode of the show, you get to assume the role of various characters and drive their respective vehicles while doing everything from sightseeing to delivering parts for Cooter. Unlike many reviewers, I didn't expect any great diversity within the game's levels. Yet I was surprised to find lesser traveled roads within Hazzard, such as within the quarry or swamp levels. With exceptions made for the only adequate PS1 3D engine, the slightly too pale complexions of some of the characters, and the omissions of Cletus (as well as Coy and Vance), I found this game to be more true to the source than perhaps any game based on a license other than Star Wars. Keep your ears out for the feller who sounds like Billy Bob Thornton. His are easily the best lines in the game.
