Revived on Vol. 134 of Something Weird's Dragon Art Theatre series, DIAMOND SEXCAPADES presents big name stars lost in a poorly developed story.
The dialog is semi-improvised, beginning with a clumsy Brigitte Maier/Ric Lutze sex scene in which he talks dirty upon request. He's a gigolo type (nicknamed Nick the Gigolo), who shamelessly asks Brigitte for $50 after delivering his money shot.
An unrelated scene follows, with Cyndee Summers humping Craig, an acquaintance of Nick's. They go to a party at what Nick purports to be his home, but actually belongs to Brigitte.
The beautiful Lilly Foster attends the party, and seduces Craig. Main gimmick is Ric's nasty manipulation of Brigitte, out to steal her title jewels, with Tally Wright (the maid) in cahoots with him. Wright typically gives the best acting performance while Maier is once again wasted -she had to trek to Europe and show under Lasse Braun's tutelage what Hollywood pornographers failed to see in her.
Cleverest, if oddest, scene has Ric doing his cunnilingus thing on a drunken Brigitte, enlisting Tally to "take over" seamlessly while he beats a hasty exit.
The transitions between sex scenes are quite awkward (film has no director credit), and it goes off the tracks completely in a violent, unconvincing final reel. Cyndee overhears the thieves plotting, so they attack her and lock her in a closet. Greg turns out to be Brigitte's guardian, leading to a cornball "twist" ending in which the giddy thieves in their getaway car prove to be out of luck.
After casting topnotch talent, the filmmakers settled for minimal entertainment here, yet another example of opportunities lost back in the Golden Age of porn.
