There’s a new, full trailer in town for Yuthlert Sippapak’s latest “Killer” film, “Friday Killer”. By the looks of things, this installment is moving away from the comedic elements of the earlier films like “Killer Tattoo”. It could be a result of the way the trailer is cut together, and perhaps there are some funny bits hiding in there someplace, but from look, “Friday Killer” appears to be a grim, straight forward tale of crime and revenge. Here’s a synopsis: “Friday Killer” is the story of Pae Uzi, aka The Eagle of Chantaburi, a professional hit-man who was just been set free from prison. After his release, he learns for the first time he has a daughter Dao. The tables are turned on Pae when his daughter tries to kill him, because she thinks he killed the only father that she ever knew. No word on a release date yeat,...

Nobody mashes genres together like Thailand's Yuthlert Sippapak. Absolutely nobody. And while his films often struggle to find international audiences thanks to his very localized style of comedy he has directed a fistful of big hits in Thailand while developing a loyal cult abroad.
What's next for the director of Buppah Rahtree, The Ghost of Valentine, Killer Tattoo and Pattaya Maniac? Well, after shooting a pair of back-to-back Rahtree sequels he's upped the ante even farther with a trio of hitman pictures pairing popular comedians with beautiful young starlets and giving each a slight variation on theme.
Named after days of the week - Friday Killer, Saturday Killer and Sunday Killer - they are, oddly, being released out of order with Friday Killer being judged too serious to properly introduce the set despite having won the top prize at this year's Phuket Film Festival. One of the most unpredictable and wildly diverse directors in Thailand, Buppah Rahtree director Yuthlert Sippapak has spent his entire career skipping through genres with a string of independently produced features that have won him an audience around the world. Yuthlert's dance card is mighty full right now but the first to hit screens will be the films in his upcoming Killers trilogy. Up first, Friday Killers.
The basic hook on these films is the pairing of veteran comedians with young starlets, Friday Killers matching Thep Po-ngam - who worked with Yuthlert on Killer Tattoo - with Ploy Jindachote, the lead of Yuthlert's Ghost of Valentine. Thep plays an aging hitman released from prison only to find out that a) he has a daughter b) she is also a hired killer and c) he's her next target.
Wise Kwai has been tracking these films for a good while now and...
