Personal Interviews with POW's held in Colditz castle during WWII.
thomas_pir_mac10 May 2006
This short series is a presentation of collaborated accounts from Mostly British POW's, and some french who were held in the now famous Colditz Castle. Some of the POW's return to the Castle for the fist time in 60 years to relive personal moments and stories of the castle, and to unearth some amazing finds covered in 60 years of neglect. The sheer number of escape attempts and the detailed organization of attempting one is unbelievable. The Casltle appears much the same as it was during the war. The program also contains reenactments of the escapes that these brave men attempted, all filmed on location at Colditz Castle. During the program you might find yourself growing with admiration for the men that risked their lives not once in combat, but multiple times in captivity to defy Hitlers orders and death, to ultimately under-mind the Nazis.
