Beyond Riverdale and the Archies there is this boarding school for girls Vandana Valley. It won’t be erroneous to call it The Valley Of the dolls.
The girls in the boarding school are young vivacious…, or perhaps, bindaas would be a better word… I am sure the young ladies of this cutely compelling series would like to known as bindaas.
Here’s a world so bindaas that the girls are allowed to check out boys’ …you know the world that rhymes with bindaas?
Ok ok. I am being coy. These teenaged pleasure seekers would probably think restrain to be sign of incorrigible fuddy-duddy-ness. But here is the thing: Big Girls Don’t Cry is not just an alibi for bad behaviour.
These girls are no rebels with a cause. They just won’t to be recognized for what they are, good, bad or lesbian. Yes, there is a strong same-sex angle,...

Having attended a missionary, all-girls school myself, Nitya Mehra’s new Amazon Prime series Big Girls Don’t Cry (Bgdc) has struck a deeply personal chord with me. It offers a glimpse into the lives of girls who have to obey the strict rules and regulations of their school, where even the smallest infractions are “Not Tolerated!” From sneaking chocolates and chewing gum to daring to wear lipstick or nail polish, the girls of Vandana Valley Girls’ School mirror my own teenage experiences. Like them, I remember the curiosity that bubbled within us—about boys, about breaking the rules and trying to find out who we really are while dealing with all the strict rules around us. Each girl in the series, much like each of us during our school days, is engaged in her own personal battle. Yet, there is a common thread: the quest for self-discovery, as “Atmanam Vidhi” or “Know Thyself.

Fergie may have been the one to preach "Big Girls Don't Cry" back in 2006, but that was then, and now, tears are definitely acceptable. After being together for 13 years and married for eight, Fergie and Josh Duhamel announced their split in September, and she's reflecting on it all in a new, emotional interview. In a preview for Thursday's episode of The Wendy Williams Show, the 44-year-old singer fights back tears and opens up about her "forever" plans with Josh. "It wasn't my plan," Fergie said in the exclusive video. "I wanted to stay married forever." The couple actually decided to split in February, but did not announce it publicly until September, after doing everything they could to save their marriage. The couple share a son, 4-year-old Axl Jack, who will always keep Fergie and Josh connected and cordial. "I love Josh, he's the father of my child," she said in the clip.

Earlier this month, the couple announced they had separated after eight years of marriage, but the 42-year-old singer told Et's Keltie Knight at The Tuck Room at iPic Theaters in New York City on Wednesday night that they still remain close.

"It should be coming out like literally any minute," he said. "It's all ready to go, now it's a matter of what's going to be released first and you know how it's all going to be released." As for how he thinks fans will react? "People are going to be amazed.

Justin Bieber faced off against Deion Sanders in the Lip Sync Battle arena this week, and the singer brought an unexpected song choice to the Spike competition: For his second lip sync of the night, Bieber dressed up like the Prince of Darkness himself to deliver Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train."
From the wig and round sunglasses to the black nail polish and the manic, bug-eyed stare into the audience, Bieber fully commits to the role of Ozzy for the pyrotechnic-filled performance. Bieber even ended the impersonation by biting the...

This week we have a strange matchup: Justin Bieber versus Deion Sanders, a tween heartthrob versus a Hall of Famer (yeah, we had to look that up). Welcome to the stage, Deion Sanders! Let's see how you fare against the Beebs.Battle 1: Justin Bieber's "Big Girls Don't Cry" vs. Deion Sanders' "Play That Funky Music" These are two staunchly mediocre performances despite all of their smack talking. Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry" is too languorous to have much of an impact, and Deion Sanders acts like "Play That Funky Music" is a dis against Bieber, but seems to have forgotten that the song was performed by these guys. Moreover, Sanders commits a grave sin in that he never takes his sunglasses off during the performance. How can we see your emotions? Bieber does a serviceable job with a fairly limited song. And do you hear those squeals?...

If Hollywood blockbusters are currently crippled by fear of the unknown, Broadway musicals – an ever-increasing number of them based on Hollywood blockbusters – are hardly less guilty. The jukebox musical is, if you will, the Great White Way's superhero reboot: their safest gambit, removing the greatest variable in a genre that has, after all, always been reliant on existing story material. Who needs composers when perfectly good popular discographies are there for the taking? “Jersey Boys” was a swift hit when it opened on Broadway in 2005; credit zesty staging or a tidily structured book if you will, but it's a show that owes its pull to one of the most buoyant American songbooks in Top 40 history. Those creamy harmonies, those tightly syncopated choruses, that unearthly falsetto: Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons hadn't the artistic reach of contemporaries like The Beatles, nor the cool strut of the Detroit acts to which...

Director Clint Eastwood takes a rare step into musical territory with this snappy adaptation of the stage smash charting the rise and fall of 60s pop sensations The Four Seasons. Original Broadway star John Lloyd Young reprises his role as lead singer Frankie Valli, with able backing from Michael Lomenda, Erich Bergen as songwriter Bob Gaudio, and Vincent Piazza as the group's reckless founder, Tommy DeVito. The dramatic ups and downs are accompanied by their greatest hits, including Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry and Walk Like A Man, while Christopher Walken lends godfatherly support as benevolent mob boss Gyp DeCarlo.

Washington (AP) — That trademark falsetto behind "Sherry," ''Big Girls Don't Cry" and other hits from 50 years ago will help celebrate July 4 on the National Mall this year as Frankie Valli headlines the "Capitol Fourth" show in Washington. Organizers on Monday were to announce their early plans for the show and fireworks, which draw hundreds of thousands of people to the National Mall each year. The event will be broadcast nationwide on PBS. Valli's voice propelled the success of The Four Seasons from their first national exposure in 1962 when they performed "Sherry" on TV's "American Bandstand." Some of their other hits include "Walk Like a Man," ''December 1963 (Oh What a Night)" and his solo hit "Grease." The group has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Now that familiar voice just turned 80 years old this month, and Valli is still touring. Looking back on decades in music,...

The first trailer for Clint Eastwood's version of the hit Broadway show suggests a shimmying tale of loyalty, friendship and light-hearted gangster cliché, says Henry Barnes
Jersey Boys, Clint Eastwood's biopic of 60s pop sensations The Four Seasons, adjusts its quiff, clears its throat and gets set to wail. The film, an adaptation of the hit Broadway show of the same name, follows The Four Seasons (those under 50: think One Direction with a mob connection and fewer perfumes) from their New Jersey roots to pop super-stardom.
The Four Seasons were famed for their tightly-drilled performances of hits like Big Girls Don't Cry and Walk Like a Man. But their slick veneer hid a tough back story. In the early days the group rubbed shoulders with the mob, sometimes robbing grocery stores to fund their music and often playing venues run by the Mafia.

We're pretty convinced that if you had replaced the Times Square Ball with Fergie, in this insane dress, you'd have the same full-on sparkle effect. We just can't understand why the new mom traded her typical rocker look for this Rubin Singer diva dress. Thrilled as we are to see the "Big Girls Don't Cry" singer get a little glitzy, we're not in love with this design. The high mock collar literally makes it look like she doesn't have a neck! Remember when casting began for Tom Hooper's Les Miserables adaptation began and devotees of the iconic Broadway musical were outraged by movie stars being cast over, you know, professional Broadway-level singers? Well, the results on that one were mixed. Despite her haters, Anne Hathaway won the Academy Award for her heartbreaking portrayal of Fantine, and Russell Crowe became an object of scorn for his vocal struggles as Javert. Clint Eastwood is looking to sidestep this discussion altogether when casting his in-the-works musical Jersey Boys. Based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, Jersey Boys unfolds the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons while featuring such beloved songs as "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," and "December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)." Second musical in a row may be on the way from veteran tough guy
Clint Eastwood is eyeing up an adaptation of the hit musical Jersey Boys, according to the Hollywood Reporter. If confirmed it would leave the veteran actor and director helming back-to-back musicals. His remake of A Star Is Born is still set to go ahead, despite losing, re-signing, then losing again its leading lady, Beyonce Knowles.
Jersey Boys, a Broadway hit since its launch in 2005, tells the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The New Jersey group, America's biggest band before the Beatles, dominated the charts from the early 60s on with hits like Walk Like a Man, Big Girls Don't Cry and later, Working My Way Back to You. The musical splits the band's career into four stages, from the spring of their early hits to their wintry dissolution and subsequent induction into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame.

If you thought Aubrey Cleland should have made the Top 10 of "American Idol" Season 12, then you are obviously not alone. During the second live performance show of the season on Wednesday (March 20), Ryan Seacrest announced that Aubrey had been chosen to tour with the Top 10 after Season 12.
Hailing from West Linn, Oregon, Aubrey made it to the semi-finals in Las Vegas. The 19 year old performed Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry," but she did not make the final cut to advance to the live shows. On last week's results show, both Aubrey and Charlie got to come back and have a sing-off to determine which of them would be the At&T "Idol" Tour fan save. Charlie got a lot of praise for performing his original song, "Sky Blue Diamond,...
