The first wave of Ururu's dinosaur soldiers in the TV series are all monsters from both earlier and later Tsuburaya Productions TV series, notably from Ultraman: A Special Effects Fantasy Series (1966) and Faiyâman (1973).
Ururu, the villainous Tyrannosaurus rex of the first 19 episodes of this TV series, was a reused suit from the film The Last Dinosaur (1977). Many of the dinosaur suits from this TV series would later go on to star in the sequel TV series, Dinosaur Squadron Koseidon (1978).
The TV series involves dinosaurs reappearing on Earth, more intelligent than before.
The TV series was popular in Japan. In Italy and Saudi Arabia, it became a big hit. The TV series was re-aired on the Italian channel Man-Ga in 2012, and the Yamato Italian DVD box set got huge sales. In 2013 this TV series, along with the other two TV series in the Tsuburaya Dinosaur Trilogy, was released on DVD by Toei Video.
The TV series is both live action and animated.
