Idina Menzel is heading on the road this summer for her Take Me Or Leave Me concert tour and she’s promising a “vintage set.”
The Tony Award-winning singer and actress named the tour after her smash hit song from the 1996 Broadway musical Rent.
“Maureen was always uninhibited and extremely comfortable in who she was, maybe to the fault [laughs],” Idina told Billboard. “I’ve always loved that song and I miss that character, but I would say I’m naming the tour this from a different perspective. Obviously, many, many years later, it’s about who I am in this point in my life. I haven’t seen my fans in a long time, and I want to show them how I’ve changed, and how I haven’t. I want to show them my experiences and hopefully, they’ll love me no matter what.”

My guest this week is Renée Elise Goldsberry.
A Tony and Grammy winner and Emmy nominee for her Broadway performance in Hamilton, Goldsberry starred as Nettie in the original Broadway production of The Color Purple and as Mimi in Rent, along with roles in TV series The Good Wife and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and the movie Tick, Tick… Boom! Now, you can see her flex both her acting and musical muscles in Girls5eva Season 3—the comedy series that earned Goldsberry Critics Choice nominations in 2022 and 2023. The show recently moved to Netflix for its third season.
Girls5eva follows an early aughts girl group as they try to get the band back together 20 years later. It’s a sort of Spice Girls reunion tour meets Spinal Tap with a side of Bridesmaids. Case in point: Goldsberry, as wannabe popstar Wickie Roy, announces that, like Billie Eilish, she too can have a documentary.

Broadway adaptations of beloved movies are nothing new — and in fact will be increasing like never before this season with “Water for Elephants,” “The Outsiders,” “The Great Gatsby,” and more musical adaptations opening just in the next month.
It’s such a thrill, then, that “The Notebook” musical, based on the Nicholas Sparks book of the same name — which of course was also turned into the beloved movie starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams — is such a romantic, weepy success, managing to honor the tale fans know while also sneaking in a savvier story, one that doesn’t look away from the horrors of dementia but retains the beautiful message of everlasting love.
The book, by Bekah Brunstetter, begins with a few smart updates: The earliest action between Younger Noah (John Cardoza) and Allie (Jordan Tyson) is moved from the WWII-era of the film to Vietnam-era, which Noah and friends get tangled up in,...

It’s hard to believe that “The Masked Singer” is already up to season 11. This edition of the reality competition show kicked off on March 6 and the premiere was packed full of surprises, culminating in the unmasking of the Book. He turned out to be funnyman Kevin Hart.
While Hart played it for laughs when he sang “So Sick” by Ne-Yo, the other four celebrities on “The Masked Singer” premiere are all hoping to make it through to the finals in May. The best singer of the bunch based on those first performances is Goldfish.

If you're a fan of the Broadway play Rent, then you know you can measure a year with five hundred twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes.
Resident Alien Season 3 Episode 3 offered another view that in the span of Earth's history, by comparison, a human life is 141 seconds.
Now, we don't know where that stat came from, but it sure is a sobering thought to how little we matter in the overall scheme of things.
Harry often finds interesting points like that now that he's come around to humanity.
He just wraps his head around how humans care so much about certain things until he has the same experience in his life, and it all comes together for him.
As the episode began, Harry Vanderspiegel wondered why humans think they deserve any better treatment than every other life force on earth that must fight to survive.
By the end of the episode,...

Live with Kelly and Mark is slowly becoming the I Stumped Mark show in between the sports talk that seems to happen daily.
Mark Consuelos’ trivia segment is a fan favorite, and everyone loves Mark’s energy, whether he is winning or losing.
The game used to be their regular travel trivia, but when Mark joined the show permanently, it morphed into Stump Mark, and he hates losing and giving away t-shirts and mugs.
The game’s premise is simple: the contestant has two statements, one a truth and one a lie, and Mark has to guess which is which. If he guesses right, he wins. He loves winning so much that he is gleeful.
It is such a favorite amongst the fans that even guests get into the act. Last fall, Jane Krakowski stumped Mark and won an I Stumped Mark t-shirt.

The Streamable has compiled a list of the top 25 pilots in TV history, and where you can watch them now.
The breadth of TV content available these days is truly staggering. Whether on live channels or on-demand, on linear TV or via subscription streaming services, there has never been a wider availability of TV shows, and that can create some real uncertainty about where to start!
When picking a new TV series, it’s obviously best to start with the pilot. That’s a TV industry term for the first episode of a series, and every show that’s ever been made (along with thousands that ultimately weren’t sent to production) has had one.
Choosing the best titles amongst these is difficult, particularly since “best” is a subjective term dependent on the individual user to interpret. However, the following list has been pulled from an Ask Reddit thread which...

“I’m 40 years old now and I still get absolutely petrified,” Garfield said. “I have terrible impostor syndrome. I didn’t know it was a viable option to be an actor. I loved being an athlete. I hated school. I wasn’t strong enough to be a rugby player. It was my mother who suggested I look at doing something creative.”

Every fan of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” (1971) loves the scene where Gene Wilder, as the mystical candy maker, takes his guests on a psychedelic tunnel ride, zooming through the bowels of the Chocolate Factory as he chants a little verse, getting angrier and more hysterical by the second. Wilder’s Wonka was a sweetheart, but he had a hidden maniacal side. And in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” Tim Burton’s majestically wacked 2005 remake, Johnny Depp, then at the apex of his movie stardom, went full Depp, playing Wonka like some louche vampiristic cross between Anna Wintour and Michael Jackson.
But in “Wonka,” the fun, rousing, impeccably staged, jaw-droppingly old-fashioned musical prequel to the legendary Roald Dahl tale, Timothée Chalamet plays the title character as the beaming soul of effervescent goodness. His chocolate passion is there (he’s all but defined by it), but the kinks are gone...

By 2013, Idina Menzel had long established herself as a formidable Broadway star, having starred in the original productions of Rent and Wicked. She’d had some small-screen success with a recurring role on Glee, and she’d gotten some big-screen experience with the Rent film and Enchanted. But none of those vehicles propelled her career into the stratosphere like voicing the character of Elsa in the animated film Frozen. The Frozen song Let It Go became her signature song — not to mention a Top 5 pop hit. Of course, Menzel also returned to voice Elsa in Frozen II and is expected to return for the two upcoming Frozen sequels, as well. We’ve spoken to Menzel many times over the years, and she told us she’s extremely thankful to Disney for giving her the opportunity to do Frozen. Spoiler Alert: This story discusses major plot points, including the ending for “Saltburn.”
In the final moments of Emerald Fennell’s “Saltburn,” Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s 2001 song, “Murder on the Dancefloor” pumps out over the speakers, while Barry Keoghan’s Oliver dances stark naked through a grand estate house in the British countryside. “Everything is diabolical, but it’s exhilarating,” Fennell explained. “It’s post-coital, euphoric, solitary and it’s mad.”
Cinematographer Linus Sandgren said the scene is about Oliver feeling as if he owns the place. In capturing it, Fennell used 11 takes before she got the right take from Keoghan. “They were all very beautiful,” she said. “It’s quite a complicated and technical camera. A lot of the time, he was immensely patient because there was a lot of naked dancing. Take #7 was technically perfect. You could hear everyone’s overjoyed response, but I had to say ‘sorry’ because...
