Finding her brother and herself Warning: Spoilers
This is an almost 15-year-old movie written and directed by Angelo Colagrossi and it only runs for 75 minutes. Colagrossi is mostly known for his work with Hape Kerkeling, but he already had a career before he started making movies with one of Germany's finest comedians. And actually, looking Colagrossi's body of work, it becomes obvious that he has made quite a few movies of German characters clashing with cultures from around the world. It fits nicely that he was born in Italy himself. Anyway, in this movie here, you will see a very young Max von Thun (only shortly in here at beginning and end), Jenny Jürgens and Armin Rohde's brother. Admittedly, I did not know the lead actress before watching this, but I see she is still prolific today, mostly on television though.

The story is fairly simple. The brother of the main character travels to India all of a sudden, so she follows him in order to find out what is going on with him. She meets a young Indian woman and the two sort-of become friends. The woman was pretty strange though. Sometimes she was very friendly, sometimes she was very distant. Very moody it seemed. I suspected that, in the end, it will be a journey to find herself for the lead character herself and I was right. Also somehow I had a feeling that the Indian woman knows more than she says. Correct also and when von Thun's character talks about getting married, it's pretty obvious who's going to be his spouse. The film is listed as a comedy here, but it's difficult for me to put it in any genre. it wasn't really funny or dramatic. Maybe family movie fits best. I have some criticisms too. Some parts were just fairly unrealistic, like when everybody she met before suddenly appears in the protagonist's bus. Or that the two decide to marry so quickly after he just went to Indian and was there maybe for a week or so and her family also does not seem to object. And finally, she works at the stock exchange and yet believes in humbug like tarot cards? Oh well... Anyway, this film is not as bad as its IMDb rating suggests, but it's not particularly good either. Maybe only worth a watch for people with an Interest in Indian cinema. Actually, this felt more Indian than German for the most part.
