Let's Get Ready To Rumble
Terryfan14 January 2015
Here we go ladies and gentlemen it's time to rumble.

Here is another classic wrestling game from the 90s and this time it's WWF Royal Rumble.

The game was release on both the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo both copies did share the roster however both copies had their own exclusive wrestlers.

Both copies allow you to play as The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Bret "Hitman" Hart, Macho Man Randy Savage, Crush, Lex, and Razor Ramon.

The Sega Genesis exclusive wrestlers were Hulk Hogan,IRS, Jim Duggan, The Model Rick Martel, and Papa Shango.

The Super Nintendo exclusive wrestlers were Ric Flair, Mr.Perfect, The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, Yokozuna, and Tatanka.

The game modes are Single matches, Tag team Matches, Survivor Series, and of course the Royal Rumble Match itself along with a career mode that allows you to go for the World Wrestling Federation Championship.

The game graphics were like the arcade where the wrestlers designs were almost closer to the real thing, the ring is in detail as well.

The sound is great as you listen to the wrestlers grunts during the match and with each hit you deliver. Also while you're in the character selection scene you can listen to the theme songs of each WWF superstar and they are pretty awesome for the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis.

The game play is the strongest feature of the game you will spend many hours playing this game with your friends and brothers or sisters.

Overall if you love video games and wrestling games then you need to WWF Royal Rumble no matter what copy you get you're in for a awesome time.

I give WWF Royal Rumble an 9 out of 10

LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!!

I loved this game when it was the best a wrestling game could be in it's day. It was released in 1993 on the SNES and Sega Genises/Megadrive. I owned the SNES and was absolutly gutted that Hulk Hogan was only found on the Sega version.

It was like it's predoecsser "WWF Wresltemania (1991) in the graphics department, but the last game had little options and no career modes at all and the Sega version was the only one to have finishing moves. This game however worked pretty much the same way, but you had special moves, and a carrer mode, or Royal Rumble to choose from. All the specials where preformed by using the shoulder R button, but it depended on where you where situated. For example The Undertaker had to do it in a grapple to do the Tombstone Piledriver and guys like Bret Hart and Ric Flair had to do them on the ground at the feet. The hardest is Lex Lugers, you have to whip him into the rope and run into the rope yourself and hit that R button when they're close enough to elbow them in the face.

The game was a lot of fun, there was one on one, tag team, survivor series (4 on 4 tag) and royal rumble. Every charactor pretty much was the same with a different look, but all had the same moves apart from the finisher move...but it was great fun... the next version RAW changed the moves around a bit and added some new moves but it wasnt as fun as this version. This is the best wrestling game on the SNES imo next to Wrestlmania The Arcade.

The sound was great, moves easy to do, tho I highly recommend a turbo/auto fire controller pad. I loved my SN Turbo Pad.

I just wish the SNES version had the immortal Hulk Hogan in it. Both the Sega and Snes version had exclusive wrestlers to the ones not found on both.

This game is also the inspiration to the popular mobile game Wrestling Revolution by Matt Dickie.

The only way this game could've been better was more wrestlers and more modes. But as it is, and always has been, it's still the best wrestling simulation game of the 16bit era.
