Sooty and pals go from strength to strength
rob-185018 June 2007
The Sooty Heights hotel is the backdrop for the traditional comedy of errors perpetrated by Sooty and his pals, including a new nephew, Scampi. The writing really is top notch, and watching this with my grandchildren, I laughed as much as they did - which was quite a bit. My favourite episode was the one guest starring the beautiful Eva Gray as "celebrity presenter" Portia duPont from "Vets and Pets". Of course, Richard the male host falls in love with Portia, and many dream sequences ensue, concluding with him winning the kiss from Portia that he strives for all episode. Eva Gray lights up the screen and her comic timing is impeccable - why don't we see this talented actress more on our screens?

Sooty Heights

Warning: Spoilers
This used to be nearly quite as good as Sooty & Co, but the sad difference was that Matthew Corbett after a long time with the puppets retired. He made the show happen, but don't worry the show isn't that bad without him. Sooty and Co now live in a Hotel called Sooty Heights. It is nearly the same kind of plot as Sooty & co as well, the main characters Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Scampy having small stories in every episode. A couple of the stories invited a new character called Butch the dog. The main host (I can't remember his name) was quite friendly and helpful, but personally Matthew Corbett was a lot better. The only guest appearance that I can remember was Matthew Kelly from Stars in Their Eyes as some magician guy. Good!
