In this film you can see famous German star - actor Axel Prahl ("Halbe Treppe") in his very first leading role, as "Dr. Munster" - a sinister cardinal from the "brotherhood in Rome", trying to close a bank-robbed church. His problem is - he don't believe in anything. Pater Emmerich and his fellows don't want to give up their beloved church and home, they set the cardinal under drugs and make him believe. When he drives back to Rome to his holy father he will fight for the little church, believing he defended the world against the devil at this place. Funny film, great camera-work. A typically Frick - film, close to "Varieté" strange people in a moody world, but emotionally straight to the heart.
