As we never stop hearing, we’re living in a golden age of television.
The explosion of cable TV as well as streaming service providers have provided so many outlets that television fare is no longer limited to staid and tested formulas, designed to appeal to a mainstream and lowest-conceivable-common-denominator type of audience by network executives interested only in the most advertising money to be made in the shortest possible time. While American broadcast networks are still killing shows off after only a tiny handful of episodes, these other outlets are more willing to take chances from the start, seeking out more niche,...

From The Craft and The Birds to The Fugitive and She's All That, the many film reboots and remakes currently in the works...
Over the years that Den Of Geek has been going, we've regularly been charting the assortment of reboots and remakes that are making their way through the Hollywood system. This, then, is the current state of play. We've removed a bunch of projects that seem utterly dead - the once mooted remakes of Videodrome and Timecrimes, for instance - but we'll keep this list up to date as and when we hear of more.
Without further ado, here's what's coming up...
Akira
One of Hollywood's most on and off projects, the current state of the live action Akira remake is that it's back in the works. Marco J Ramirez, the showrunner for season 2 of Netflix's Daredevil show, has been hired to pen a screenplay. Warner Bros is still backing the film,...

10 days ago, 12 survivalists were brought to the Colombian badlands in what can only be described as the world’s toughest survival challenge: No Food, No Water, and no Clothes. They’ve been divided into four groups in the area’s four distinct topographies and already, one of the survivalists has been unable to continue in the harsh and unforgiving environment and tapped out. Jeff, Hakim and Ej begin their journeys in the hot and volcanic Roca Diablo (Devil Rocks), but Hakim tapped out on day 4. Jeff and Ej have located a water source and caught fish. Laura, Eva and Dani … Continue reading →

It’s Laura Palmer’s funeral, and of course Leland has to ruin this too! Not, of course, before Snake and The Bobber throw down against Broody McBroodsalot. We discuss in this episode how there is a lot of crap in Twin Peaks, but what makes the show great is its ability to put truly transcendent material around the crap. Don Davis and Miguel Ferrer turn in superb performances this week, as does Kyle McLachlan as always.

The upcoming February 7th release of Nurse 3D has everyone buzzing, and why not? With Paz de la Huerta and Katrina Bowden heating up the screen, how can you go wrong? To celebrate, we bring you Five Beautifully Broken Nurses.
Now, of course you have the standard fare, the all-star psycho nurses like Annie Wilkes in Misery, Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, everyone's favorite nurse to hang around with in Halloween II, and that beastly bunch of corpse-like caregivers from Silent Hill. But we thought we'd go a bit off the beaten path on this one.
First, some honorable mentions. We're going to categorize these nurses as NILFs, but we've got two different types of NILFs. We've got the traditional "Nurses I'd Like to... Fornicate" (with, haha!) and "Nurses I'd Like to Forget" for the really disturbing ones.
Who could forget that Victor Crowley's mother was...

We're down to the final four plus three Redemption Island inhabitants on "Survivor: Blood vs. Water." Who do you think will take home the money?
Hayden and Ciera tried to move against Tyson, but so far, his alliance has stuck by him. Do you think Gervase, Monica and Tyson can go all the way? If they do, do you agree with us that Tyson would win easily?
It'll be interesting to see who comes back into the game from Redemption and if Monica or Gervase can be swayed to side with whomever that is and Ciera. Who do you think is more likely to flip on Tyson?
Join us here starting at 8 p.m. Et/Pt for a live blog of all the finale festivities.
8:00 -- Don't panic, the episode is delayed six minutes because of NFL football.
8:07 -- Let's review the journey of the season, shall we?...

The whole concept of everyone getting sick feels like basic sitcom material, but Parks and Recreation tackles the concept and makes it work while moving the Harvest Festival plot along nicely. A terrible case of the flu runs amok and takes down April, Leslie, and turned out to be the Kryptonite for the finely tuned microchip of a superman that is Chris. The plot for this episode breaks nicely into April vs. Ann and Leslie vs. The Flu, with some fun side bits by Tom, Andy, and Ron to round out the episode nicely.
Ann’s character in past seasons stuck out quite a bit in the previous seasons, and the threads that tied her to our Parks Department have been cut off. The pit is now a lot, which is not as dangerous, and she is no longer dating Mark.

First Comic Execution of 2015! Don’t get too comfortable, though. There’s going to be a new Comic Execution coming your way, revamaped to time with the debut of the new Destroy The Brain. What’s going to change? Well, most importantly, we’re going to continue to narrow our reviewed titles to ones that fit better with the Destroy The Brain format. You’re already seeing quite a bit of that but here’s what you can expect, if it’s a horror comic, we’ll be reviewing it, no matter how crappy or obligatory it might be. For example; I haven’t reviewed any of the Idw “Ash vs [insert franchise here]” comics because the premise already seems like trash and I’m not interested. But from here on out, I’m going to put my personal bias aside, at least when it comes to choosing the titles I review, and...
