Three outta four ain’t bad?
Before this season of Game of Thrones began, I predicted that the remaining Stark children would never be in the same place at the same time ever again. Because that would be too happy of a moment for a family plagued by heartache and supremely bad timing.
And while that still isn’t the case in this week’s episode, we do get Arya, Sansa and Bran together at Winterfell, a reunion that is as hard to watch (given how much...

The famous Pirelli Calendar has gone through many iterations since it debuted in 1964. The calendar originally began as a means of setting the tire company apart from their competition with a project that enlisted the best artists, photographers, and models of the era. Pirelli really began to make waves, however, as their annual publication became synonymous with pinup girls and nude photo shoots, but in recent years it has made an abrupt shift towards a more feminist, inclusive 21-century vision of fashion. The brand has enlisted Annie Leibowitz to shoot the women that inspire her and Peter Lindbergh to photograph...

May 2015 was the last time Harvey Weinstein hosted a Cannes presentation at the Majestic Hotel. Among the titles was a preview of Justin Chadwick’s “Tulip Fever,” with the then white-hot Swedish actress Alicia Vikander on hand. A romantic triangle period piece costarring Christoph Waltz and Dane DeHaan, Weinstein later pushed the release from July 2016 to February 2017. Now, two years later, it’s booked for August 25 — the dog days of summer.
Last year, the Weinstein Co. had so few bonafide Oscar contenders on the docket that they didn’t mount their usual Cannes show-and-tell at all. Garth Davis’s “Lion” did yield six nominations and, like critics’ darling “Carol” the year before, no wins. The lengthy awards season did pay off for “Lion” at the box office; it’s made $103 million worldwide. However, it also represents a rare tick in the ‘win’ column for TWC, which is struggling to maneuver in these challenging times.

Fourteen of Hollywood's fiercest actresses are the subjects of Pirelli's 2017 Calendar -- and the photos are far from the red carpet glamour that fans are accustomed to seeing.
Nicole Kidman, Robin Wright, Julianne Moore, Jessica Chastain, Uma Thurman, Penelope Cruz, Helen Mirren and Lupita Nyong'o are among the stars that went nearly makeup-free while posing for renowned photographer Peter Lindbergh in the 44th edition of the calendar. As far as fashion is concerned, the actresses are dressed in simple black and white styles, with Chastain donning lacy lingerie, Moore in a bodysuit and Wright in a tiny pair of shorts and vest.

Over the years, the Pirelli Calendar has become synonymous with two seemingly incongruous things: tires and nudity. Make that lots of nudity. But last year, thanks to Annie Leibovitz all of that changed. The renowned photographer ushered in a new way to celebrate a handful of her favorite famous ladies, focusing on women whose lives and works inspire her rather than putting the emphasis on their physiques alone. And this year, photographer Peter Lindbergh has chosen to follow suit, seeking to capture the inner depths of A-list actresses like Julianne Moore, Uma Thurman, Robin Wright, and Nicole Kidman.

In what is now a new and continuing tradition, the Golden Globe Awards have been revealed ahead of the Oscar nominations, which will be made public this Thursday. Of course, voting for the Oscar nominations was closed before the awards were revealed so don't think last night's wins will have any effect on the nominees. But this isn't an article designed to look at nominations, though we'll certainly get into a little of that. Instead we're looking at what chance last night's Globe winners have at winning the Oscar based on the recent Globe vs. Oscar history. This post serves as my ninth installment of my "Globes vs. Oscars" column (2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) and we'll take a look at the past 30 years of Golden Globe winner history compared to the Oscars and see where last night's winners may gain an edge and where they most likely won't and we'll begin with the lead acting categories.

Previous rumoured projects have come to nothing, with Idle once joking: "We would only do a reunion if [Graham] Chapman came back from the dead. So we're negotiating with his agent." The press conference is scheduled for midday 21 November at London's Playhouse Theatre. Prior to the beginning of the Summer box office season, Box Office Mojo made very specific predictions for every title which we thought would earn over $100 million at the domestic box office. Now that the season is over, we thought it would be worth taking a look back at how those predictions panned out. While predictions were also made for the overseas box office, we're going to refrain from evaluating those figures: not only is the foreign box office harder to forecast, but it's also tougher to tell at this point where many of these titles will wind up.For each title, we will list the domestic forecast, the actual gross (in most cases an estimate) and the percentage difference [(Actual-Forecast)/Forecast]. Each prediction will be assigned a grade on the following arbitrary scale: A (less than 10% difference), B (10-19.9%), C (20-29.9%), D (30-39.9%) and F (over 40%). The grades are pretty evenly...

As reported yesterday, Summer 2013's $4.76 billion in domestic earnings was a new high mark for the movie industry's most important season. Of course, not all movies are sharing equally in that windfall. As part of our series of Box Office Mojo's series of Summer recap stories, we're breaking down this Summer's releases in to three categories: Winners, Losers, and Toss-Ups. Judgments are being made based on a combination of factors, including historical comparisons, budgets, and expectations. Many of the categorizations are pretty self-explanatory*with over $1.2 billion worldwide, Iron Man 3 is obviously a winner*though some are a bit more controversial. We encourage you to share your thoughts with us and other Mojo fans on Facebook.WinnersIron Man 3: The first movie of the Summer, Iron Man 3, also wound up being the highest-grossing movie by a long shot. Typically, the third movie in a franchise earns less than its...

Continuing the Summer's winning streak, aggregate domestic box office in the month of July came in at an excellent $1.37 billion. That isn't quite a new record for the month, though it does make it the second-highest-grossing month of all-time behind July 2011 ($1.395 billion). Overall, Summer 2013 box office is up 11 percent year-to-year. Even if August is awful*which is possible, though unlikely*the season will still be the highest-grossing one ever at the domestic box office.July box office was driven primarily by Despicable Me 2, which earned as much as the next three titles combined. Building on goodwill from the first movie, the animated sequel finished the month with a fantastic $314 million, which ranks sixth all-time among animated movies. Overseas, it's doing fantastic business as well, and could end its run with over $800 million worldwide. This is great news for Universal Pictures, which already has a Minions spin-off scheduled for next Christmas.

Does Hugh Jackman ever slow down? From what we can report, the answer is a definitive no way, mate. For the cover story of our annual Summer Must List issue, EW visited the actor last year on the Sydney set of The Wolverine (in theaters July 26), where Jackman jumped and leapt and charmed his way through a series of seemingly back-breaking stunts that he made look as easy as pie. That’s entertainment — and who embodies the power and pop of summer in the cinema better than Jackman?

Fans of The Mindy Project know that despite Mindy’s best efforts, her life is far from a perfect romantic comedy. So it’s no surprise that a moment that should be steamy — in this case, a shower with new boyfriend Pastor Casey (Workaholics’ Anders Holm) — takes a turn for the awkward and clumsy. Sandra Bullock would never have to deal with freezing temperatures, water-spouting boyfriends, or bath products that may be trying to kill her.

It's two months and fifteen days (or thereabouts, it's not as if we're feverishly crossing off the days on our Official Game of Thrones™ 2013 Calendar or anything) until season three of HBO's epic fantasy starts in the Us, which makes it two months and sixteen days until the UK is allowed back to Westeros.
To pass the time until then, HBO is steadily releasing a series of behind-the-scenes videos, some of which show the season three footage missing from last week's atmospheric teaser trailer.
In this clip? Writer Bryan Cogman talks us briefly through the writing process, and there's the smallest glimpse of Diana Rigg in action as Lady Oleanna, Queen of Thorns...

With many scientists theorizing that an asteroid is the most likely culprit behind the extinction of the dinosaurs and many doomsdayers anticipating an asteroid strike will wipe out the planet in just over two months as the Maya Calendar ends another 5,125-year-long cycle, you would think that the icy chunks of irregularly orbiting space debris streaking throughout our solar system would pose the greatest threat to spaceflight. However, while an asteroid smashing into a rocket or space station might make for a dramatic plot device in a movie, the dangers facing astronauts and cosmonauts are, in truth, much more mundane, though no less deadly.

Another piece of the Awards Calendar has been filled in as the Broadcast Film Critics Association -- of which I am a member -- has announced the 2013 Critics' Choice Movie Awards will take place January 10, 2013, airing on The CW after several years on VH1. This makes the 10th a rather big day on the award season calendar as the 2013 Oscar nominations will be announced that morning. I guess I will be getting up early in a Los Angeles hotel room to announce the Oscar noms before heading to the Critics' Choice Awards that night. Nominations will be announced on December 11. You can check out my full Awards Calendar here. Sasha Stone over at Awards Daily recently asked a crop of Oscar bloggers a series of questions regarding the race and you may happen to notice at least one name you recognize among those questioned if you click here. Julianne Moore has celebrated her upcoming 50th birthday on Friday by stripping off for another saucy modelling shoot.
The Hannibal actress hit headlines in August when a billboard featuring a shot of her posing semi-naked for a Bulgari handbags fashion campaign was banned by officials in Venice, Italy for being too racy.
Now she has risked further controversy by taking part in a sexy, black-and-white photoshoot for next year's Pirelli Calendar, in which she is shown wearing a low-cut metallic bra.
Moore poses as Hera, the Greek goddess of marriage, in the limited edition, mythology-themed calendar. Other beauties featured include Ukrainian model Daria Werbowy, who has been linked to Josh Hartnett, and British funnyman David Walliams' wife Lara Stone, as Aphrodite.

Actress Julianne Moore, ("The Kids Are Alright") is among the models who feature in the 2011 "Pirelli Calendar", a black and white limited edition publication, produced annually since 1964. Illustrating the calendar's 2011 theme of 'mythology', Moore appears as the Greek goddess 'Hera'.
The 2011 Pirelli Calendar, was put together by designer Karl Lagerfeld, from sessions filmed in the Paris studio of Chanel earlier this year.
Lagerfeld said he chose the theme of Greek mythology because he had read classic sagas such as Homer's "Iliad" as a child.
"I'm a visual version of Homer," he said. "I did it with my camera instead of with my pen."

So how did "A Serious Man" pull off that underdog Oscar nomination for best picture? Perhaps because it was among the first wave of DVD screeners shipped to academy members, long before the deluge of discs that arrived during the holiday season. Such an early-out-of-the-gate strategy certainly helped "Slumdog Millionaire" in last year's derby as it romped to victory with eight wins, including best picture. And it might have helped land lead acting nods last year for Richard Jenkins ("The Visitor") and Melissa Leo ("Frozen River"), whose DVDs were among the first dozen discs to get into Oscar voters' hands. Likewise for this year's lead actress contender Carey Mulligan ("An Education") and supporting actor nominee Woody Harrelson ("The Messenger"). Other films that did well in past derbies, like "Juno" (2007) and "Hustle and Flow" (2005), were also delivered to the mailboxes of Oscar voters early in the award cycle. Early bird "Little Miss Sunshine...
