A German Gem

I saw this film at the Sydney Film Festival last year and was greatly impressed with the way in which the film gently draws you into the lives that Peter intrudes on in the hours they are away from their homes. He is a computer hacker on the run after his girlfriends mysterious death, which he blames himself for. He jumps on his skateboard and onto the first train to Cologne, only pausing to grab some spurious data he'd hacked and already arranged to sell. Upon arrival in Cologne, whilst trying to find somewhere to rest he is run over and his priority becomes recuperation whilst trying to set up a meeting to sell the data. Everyone is slightly damaged and wary of outside influences including the main character but they all find hope and strength as they begin to notice small changes in the world around them. A beautifully made (digitally shot), well acted, slightly comical love story that deserves a wider audience.

This movie has a very original story line. It starts out with a computer hacker on the point of making a very good deal, but because of the (accidental?) death of his girlfriend he flees, to end up in Cologne. There he lives in other peoples homes, at the times they are out. Especially that part, where the relationship between him and the home owners is being told, is very nicely done. During the movie he gets to communicate with them, in very different ways, and interferes with there lifes. He starts to run a part of theirs. Also the characters of those people are greatly done.
