Extraordinary amount of ideas about cinema, TV, communication, experiences
I don't think this could be defined as a film, or even as a "documentary" or as an interview.
We have Serge Daney outpouring extraordinary amount of ideas and at the same time recounting his story/life with Cahiers, Libe, etc.
Cinema is at the core of everything of course.
No second camera or moving whatsoever.
We have mid-close up of Daney who smokes like a hell and speaks at the pace of shooting stars.
When he speaks about the French films of 1940-58 he is great, but when he deconstructs the television, he is sublime and practically anticipates instagram/tiktok.
This is a great "document" of the man who knows he'll die soon and tries to be as lucid about his ideas as possible, without compromising anything.
